Discover the weekly recap of the mobile games news on Android and iOS for the week of November 28 to December 4, 2022! On the agenda this week: the release of Autochess MOBA, a secret Bethesda game, the announcement of the open-world Infinity Nikki, the progressive launch of Warzone mobile and much more to discover in this recap. We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️
Let's start our recap of the week with the release of the highly anticipated Autochess MOBA on Android and iOS. Based on the Autochess license unofficially derived from the DOTA mode of the same name, this new MOBA on mobile is played almost exactly like DOTA: in 5v5 with defined roles, destructible trees, a big jungle, messengers to carry your items, etc. Its gameplay is rather classic and regulars will quickly get used to it, especially if you're used to it. Its gameplay is rather classic and those used to the genre will quickly get used to it, especially if you are used to Wild Rift or Mobile Legends in terms of on-screen controls.
Although it doesn't invent anything, Autochess MOBA offers a neat design with colorful skills. Moreover, all the heroes are free and can be unlocked as your rank in ranked games increases and only the chests are blocked by the premium model. However, be careful not to die against the bots of the first 3 games, they are much too strong for noobs! To help you choose the right players, we have already prepared our tier list Autochess MOBA of the best OP characters.
In an interview with Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard about Starfield development, we learned that Bethesda is working on a new mobile game that has yet to be announced.
At the moment, we don't know the genre of the game or whether it will be a new license or a known franchise, like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout. However, Todd Howard says that Bethesda has learned a lot from its experience with Fallout Shelter and believes that some players will spend a lot of time on this mysterious game.
You may have thought that Genshin Impact was just a beautiful open world gacha RPG that promoted itself on the ski slopes of Val Thorens? But no, today the title from Hoyoverse offers itself a TCG mode.
In the trading card game Summoning of the Seven, available with update 3.3 starting December 7, you'll be able to find some of your favorite NPCs in both PvE and PvP. Only the PvE format will earn you rewards, but to find out everything there is to know about this new game mode Genshin Impact such as the exact gameplay, available maps and announced features, check out our article.
If there's at least one thing Apple and Google seem to agree on, it's the name of the mobile game of the year. Indeed, both the Google Play Awards and the App Store Awards 2022 have chosen Apex Legends mobile as the best title in the phone format. Meanwhile, our favorite Rocket League Sideswipe is the public's choice on mobile for 2022. And we have to admit that this title surprised us from the start with its gameplay quality. On the indie scene, the RPG Dicey Dungeons is the winner and Dislyte which wins a prize in multiplayer. Even if for us it is far from being the game with the best multiplayer options.
Finally, the puzzle game Moncage receives the honors of the best iPad game of 2022, and it is deserved. But it's Genshin Impact which remains on the throne of the most successful games continued this year. Links to the full list of winners are in the description.
The Google Play and Apple Store Awards won't be the only ones to reward the best mobile games of 2022. We're also launching our first awards and, even if they don't have a name yet (feel free to make suggestions in comments or on Discord), we're already sure they'll be much better than the competition's, because you'll be able to vote for your favorite games directly on Discord or on the community tab of Youtube.
With a year full of nuggets and big titles that you've been able to follow along with us through the recaps and top stories, we had to make a Mobi.gg selection of the nuggets of 2022. If you want to do justice to your favorite mobile game of the year, see you next week for the Mobi.gg Awards 2022 voting!
While all games are progressively displaying the colors of Christmas, Nintendo is making room for a major confrontation. Mario Kart Tour Nintendo is hosting its new event that pits Princess Peach's team against Bowser's, the king of the Koopas.
For the occasion, all the characters are split between the two teams and you'll have to choose which one to support. First released on Nintendo DS in 2005, the Peach Gardens circuit also makes an appearance in Mario Kart Tour Peach vs Bowser, as do new costumes in the store and numerous rewards events to unlock.
How about instead of facing an opponent like Bowser, you try a little personal challenge? For fans of mobile puzzle and point'click games, the release of Station 117 offers new gameplay perspectives.
This title from Glitch Games available for 2 euros on Android and iOS will take you deep into the depths, to the underwater station number 117, filled with secrets. Try to solve the mystery of the station's abandonment in a mysterious atmosphere full of humor and clever puzzle design.
Don't forget to take pictures of Station 117, for your memories, but especially to save you from going back and forth between the puzzles! And maybe you'll find out what secret advancements the scientists were working on...
Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is back in the news with its launch in Australia. Thanks to this phase of test, we know that Activision is emphasizing the cohesion between the different titles of the license. We'll find a progression of weapons, levels and a Battle Pass shared with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0.
According to rumors, the worldwide release would be scheduled for May 2023, but no official announcement has confirmed this information. Until then, make room on your smartphone as you will need just under 6 GB to host Warzone Mobile.
Developed by the indie studio T-Bull SA, Bike Riders: Dirt Moto Racing is a motocross racing game that has just been released on Android. Oriented towards PvP, Bike Riders integrates many tournaments and events in which you must achieve the best scores of players to climb the world ranking.
However, we regret a very rigid handling and low graphics, even if they are more beautiful in-game in High than on the background video. As a complete motorcycle game, we recommend you to try Road Redemption Mobile.
After its announcement at G-Star 2022 in Korea, Eversoul opens its pre-registrations. Kakao Games' RPG allows you to summon six types of characters, called Souls: humanoids, beasts, fairies, angels, demons, and even the undead. Create your ideal hero composition to travel through the dangerous world of Eversoul, a universe at the crossroads of medieval fantasy and post-apocalyptic, two genres that are found together a lot in 2022.
Between gacha, dungeon crawler and PvP, the title from Kakao games will also let you develop relationships with your characters to strengthen them. We will tell you more about Eversoul in the coming months.
After the success of Shining Nikki, Papergames is embarking on a cross platform open world to expand the license. Visually beautiful, the open-world Infinity Nikki on mobile will take up the importance of the outfit change of the previous games. In the trailer, we notice that the jumping animations are still a bit floating, which suggests that some adjustments will still be needed to the character's controls.
A game designer from Zelda Breath of the Wild is the executive producer of the project. Infinity Nikki will be available on Playstation, PC, Android and iOS but has no release date announced yet. You can join Momo and Nikki in the fantastic world of Miraland.
After the closure of Everdale and Clash Questit's Boom Beach: Frontlines ' turn to say goodbye to the community. Despite Tencent's investment in Supercell, the Finnish-based studio has decided to close its arena shooter on January 16, 2023. As the game was developed by Space Ape Games, you will be able to transfer your gems to any of the studio's other titles.
Almost a year ago, at Mobi.gg, we were not entirely convinced by this title lacking punch and interest when we tested Boom Beach Frontlines but the game was still young and full of promise. But now, it's the end of the game for this Supercell title.
Also in this week's releases, BraveNine Story is an RPG that incorporates visual novels from the universe of the tactical RPG Brave Nine. Join the group of mercenaries in a new adventure that will deepen the scenario of the first game.
On the gameplay side, BraveNine Story offers strategic combat at turn-based . Collect episodes of the visual novel in the single-player story mode or battle against players in PvP arenas in this title available for free on iOS and Android.
We continue with the gacha published by Crunchyroll. This week, it is the release of The Eminence in Shadow RPG which enters the big league. If you don't know this license, The Eminence in Shadow is a series of light novels adapted in manga, then more recently in anime since October.
During the fights, the side view looks more like what we are used to seeing in versus fighting games, but it has the advantage of highlighting the characters and their animations.
As rushed as parents looking for decent gifts on Christmas Eve, the endless runner Talking Tom Time Rush makes its debut on Android and iOS. Tom and 5 other characters travel through time, dodging obstacles and collecting items in a very casual runner that's a little short on content.
Considering the target of Outfit7's Talking Tom license, it is normal that the title is very easy to access in terms of difficulty and the game will certainly not reach the level of competing runners such as Subway Surfers, Temple Run, Blades of Brim or Rabbids that you can find in our top runners on mobile.
On its side, Apex Legends Mobile welcomes a new update, which signs the arrival of the Underworld event and a new legend: Revenant, the synthetic nightmare. This former hitman turned android is a strong team player thanks to his support abilities. In addition to this new fighter, the temporary game mode Beginning of the Nightmare will allow you to collect loot crates from all over the map and the Second Chance mode will add a little spice with reappearances.
If you like choice-based games, the Reigns series is obviously a must-have on mobile. A game from Devolver Digital that offers you to make decisions by swiping left or right, Reigns plays with time, your memory and the roguelite mechanics that we love.
Deciding whether or not to accept the demands of your subjects and advisors, try to survive epidemics, betrayals, wars, famine and bankruptcy for as long as possible to discover new narrative branches. Personally, I finished Lapse and Reigns on mobile a long time ago and I'm really happy to see the three Chinese kingdoms land in Reigns format to play with my Netflix subscription, without any ads.
The Brawl Stars World Championship has just ended. Congratulations to Zeta Division Zero who won the title against the other team of its structure: Zeta Division One. Already during the qualifications in East Asia, the two Zeta Division teams were at the top of the ranking. In the end, the two finalist teams won a total of $600,000.
We stay in esport with The Battle of Polytopia, the strategy game at turn-based, which wants to launch itself in the competition. The studio Midjiwan has just signed a contract to organize tournaments over 5 years with the platform esport Challenger mode.
Maybe we should start considering a top of the most expensive premium games on mobile. In any case, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited released this week on Android and iOS would probably rank there with a price tag of 33 euros when it's roughly the original PS Vita game released in 2014 by Nippon Ichi Software. Play as the vampire Valvatorez in search of your Prinnies to offer them a salary in sardines and save them from the clutches of the Gouvernemort.
Disgaea 4 is not my kind of game at all, and even less my kind of price, but if you have some gift budget left for Christmas and a wave of nostalgia takes you, why not give Disgaea 4 a chance? Well, it's your wallet, not mine.
We end this week's recap with Ace Angler: Fishing Spirits M, the mobile adaptation of Bandai Namco's fishing game, released in October on Nintendo Switch. In-game, we feel a lot of Japanese arcade culture with a dynamic rhythm, very colorful graphics and lots of information displayed on the screen. Collect all the fish to win medals, unlock rewards and progress in the ranking.
Be careful though, because some sea monsters will require more effort to be brought to the surface. Ace Angler: Fishing Spirits M is available for free on Android and iOS and if you need more sessions in the deep sea, we suggest Creatures of the Deep, a fishing game that is among the best mobile games of December.
Thank you all for reading this far, and see you next week for more mobile gaming news! If you missed last week's news, our previous recap #82 was about Solo Leveling, connected wands Harry Potter, the release of Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown and much more.
