In this recap #254, we take a look at this week’s must-play mobile games, the latest mobile gaming news, and the pre-registrations and beta tests you won’t want to miss.

On the agenda: we’ll be taking a look at a new project from Marvel, there’s some great news regarding Guild Wars on mobile, a new FIFA game is on the horizon, and we’ve got loads more updates to share with you!

This week’s mobile games releases

This week has seen a flurry of release announcements, with numerous games now available on the app stores:

  • Guild Wars Reforged has launched on mobile: featuring optimised controls, just as many massive PvE campaign missions, fierce PvP battles and a world that’s more vibrant than ever. Discover its events, hidden puzzles and side treasures.
  • FIFA Heroes is available on the app stores: lace up your boots and take on players from around the world in super-short, fast-paced 5v5 matches. In just a minute and a half, break through the defences and score as many goals as possible.
  • CookieRun Classic has arrived on Android and iOS: the endless runner returns as a revamp of the Ovenbreak instalment, featuring brand-new cookies. The studio says there are also other major new features.
  • And Roger has been released on the Play Store and App Store: piece together the puzzle in this narrative-driven game, escape from the house and find your father in this pastel-coloured tale with a bewildering atmosphere.

Next up is Skyhill: Hotel Survival, launching on mobile. Treble Bull has arrived on iOS, and we round off this section with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Shredder’s Revenge, this week’s free game from Epic Games.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and beta tests

Here’s a round-up of the pre-registrations and betas that made the news this week on Android and iOS.

  • Guild Wars’ Mistbound announced for mobile: it’s like Hearthstone, but with strategic card placement in addition to your pre-prepared deck, featuring towers and commanders. Except that you can reposition your cards between rounds.
  • My Hero Academia United Survival opens pre-registration: on the menu is the original MHA story, as well as never-before-seen scenes, special missions and unique moves not featured in the manga. The roguelite My Hero Academia United Survival is set for release on 23 November 2026
  • MIRESI: Invisible Future is now open for pre-registration: become a time traveller in this RPG developed by the team behind Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and Seven Knights 2.
  • Unhinged launches on 30 June: it’s a survival game from Netflix set in a horror-themed world where your smartphone acts as the controller.

Meanwhile, the MMORPG Aika Mobile has just been announced. DK Mobile Reborn is expanding into Asia. VA-11 Hall-A has been announced for iOS, as has the game based on the Chainsaw Man franchise. Honkai Nexus Anima will enter another testing phase on 9 July and, finally, Knightica is now open for pre-registration.

The mobile gaming industry has more news in store for you this week:

  • Leaks regarding Project Comet, the Marvel RPG and Genshin-like mobile game: it is reportedly a Genshin- or Wuthering Waves-style RPG featuring gacha mechanics and co-op gameplay. We’ve seen what are believed to be assets from the game, including the interface and even characters such as Captain America, Spider-Man, Juggernaut and Elektra.
