This week’s mobile games releases

This week has seen a flurry of release announcements, with numerous games now available on the app stores:

  • Pokémon Champions has launched on mobile: this Pokémon battle simulator has already racked up tens of thousands of reviews. Collect them, train them, tweak their stats however you like and deploy your Pokémon roster, either on your own or with friends.
  • Cascadou is available on iOS: this roguelike, inspired by Balatro, combines the concept with dominoes and chain reactions. You must survive for 7 days by optimising a deck of 52 cards featuring 120 stickers, 8 card types and 10 upgrade badges.
  • Wizzy Animals has been released on mobile: your aim is to protect the magic academy – the castle in the centre of your screen – by summoning heroes to fend off waves of zombies.

We round off this section with this week’s free Epic Games Store game, Construction Simulator 3 .

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and beta tests

Here’s a round-up of the pre-registrations and betas that made the news this week on Android and iOS.

  • Dave the Diver is coming to mobile in August: the game puts you in the wetsuit of Dave, a diver who heads out to sea to fish for over 200 species whilst it’s still light, before returning to run his sushi restaurant in the evening. Each underwater run earns you money and resources to upgrade your gear, with roguelike mechanics.
  • GigaBash is coming to mobile: monstrous gods and other gigantic creatures will battle it out in destructible arenas. In 4-player clashes, take control of your favourite titans across various game modes, from the most competitive to the most casual.
  • Poinpy is returning to mobile: Having previously been released as a Netflix game before disappearing from the mobile catalogue, the excellent Poinpy is returning to Android and iOS very soon. Poinpy is an arcade game where your aim is simple: you must climb as high as possible whilst crushing as many fruits as you can to make juice.
  • Wolfbin has been announced: This RPG plans to blend storytelling, battle royale (ah) and augmented reality in a post-apocalyptic setting. I forgot to mention that werewolves rule the world.

Next up is Kingdom Rush 6 Genesis, which launches on 24 September. Meanwhile, Discounty has opened pre-registration on Android. The arcade game Twinshot Deluxe arrives on 25 June. The RPG Dawn’s Edge has opened pre-registration.

The RPG graphic novel Counterside is shutting down.

The mobile gaming industry has more news for you this week:

Supercell owes the brand €250,000, €120,000 for emotional distress and €1,000 for every day Sprout appears in the game.
  • Aniimo showcases its trailer: the open-world game has released a new gameplay trailer featuring creatures that will melt your little heart. Available on mobile, console and PC, the former Star Continent reveals hoverboard rides, water surfing and an urban world complete with a strange lottery.
  • CD Projekt is reportedly planning a multiplayer, free-to-play mobile game for The Witcher: it would be a free-to-play co-op ARPG on PC and mobile, revisiting Geralt’s youth where you play as unique witchers ready to take on any contract to build a reputation, and this exciting project is backed by Scopely for the mobile version.
  • Xbox is considering mobile ports outside of Game Pass: One title that springs to mind is Sea of Thieves, which could well make its way to mobile in the first quarter of 2027.
