It was announced on 28 April, and now it’s here: Guild Wars Reforged for mobile has been released! 21 years after its initial launch on PC and consoles, ArenaNet’s legendary MMORPG is now available on Android and iOS. But at what price? Is cross-save available for players? Let’s take a closer look!
A quick reminder of what Guild Wars Reforged is, for those who may have missed out on MMORPGs over the last 20 years. Guild Wars (renamed “Reforged” for its modernised version) was, back in 2005, World of Warcraft’s first major competitor. It stood out at the time (and still does today) not only for its lack of a subscription fee, but also for its unique class-based build system.
Today, this legendary MMORPG, brimming with nostalgia, is available right in the palm of your hand. Guild Wars Reforged Mobile offers an optimal experience, with controls tailored for touchscreens and a graphical overhaul, as well as an interface designed specifically for smartphones.
I’ll put your mind at rest straight away: yes, Guild Wars Reforged Mobile does support cross-save. In other words, players who already have an account will be able to pick up where they left off on Android or iOS! All you need to do is use your existing login details. More good news: you don’t need to pay to download Guild Wars Reforged Mobile!

However, if you’re new to the game, you’ll be able to access the Prophecies campaign for free, with adverts. The other campaigns can then be purchased for between $6 and $9.
⚡ Mobi.gg tip: if you’re a new player and plan to use cross-play in the long term, I’d advise you to create a Steam account first. This is because it isn’t possible to log in via Steam using a mobile account.
So, are you going to give Guild Wars Reforged a go on mobile, now that Guild Wars 3 has been announced during Summer Game Fest? In any case, it’s always great to see a legendary game ported to Android and iOS! And if you’re looking for other options, do check out our list of the best mobile MMORPGs!
