After months of waiting, fans have finally been blessed with the release of CookieRun Classic on Android and iOS! Long-time players will instantly recognise it as a return to the original endless runner experience that introduced millions to the Cookie world years ago. So, what exactly is waiting for players in this nostalgic comeback, and how does Cookie Run Classic bring the old-school formula back to life in a modern release? Let’s dive right in!
Before CookieRun evolved into titles like OvenBreak and CookieRun: Kingdom, an earlier version of the game - Cookie Run for LINE - helped shape the series’ early identity (which some long-time players might still remember). Featuring a similar side-scrolling endless runner style but with far fewer modes compared to later entries, the game became one of the first major introductions to the CookieRun franchise for many players globally.

Now, in June 2026, Devsisters has officially brought that classic formula back with the release of CookieRun Classic on mobile. This follows the release of Cookie Run: OvenSmash just a few months earlier, which featured a completely different gameplay style compared to the new entry. We would highly recommend checking that out!
The release of CookieRun Classic sticks to what the series is best known for: Focusing on simple endless runner gameplay at its core. Players jump and slide through obstacle-filled stages, collect jellies, and try to escape the Witch’s Oven. All this controlled with just two buttons on your screen!
There’s still plenty to work with beyond the main gameplay loop. Players can collect Cookies, Pets, and Treasures, then mix and upgrade them to improve their runs and chase higher scores as they progress. Simple on the surface, but still much room to experiment with different setups for the release of CookieRun Classic!

I'll share one last good news, Devsisters has kept the game free-to-play! You can jump in without much friction. However, you can definitely spend in-game to progress faster than other players (not necessary for progression, though).
So, are you ready to dive back into the Witch’s Oven once again? If you enjoy fast-paced mobile runners, the release of CookieRun Classic might just be worth a try. And if you’re looking for more, don’t forget to check out other top mobile games in june 2026!
