Let's start this recap with the announcement of a new mobile game. Get ready to hunt epic monsters on mobile as the popular Monster Hunter mobile license will soon release a new title on iOS and Android.
After the half-hearted success of Monster Hunter Stories, Capcom chooses to partner with TiMi Studios, the Tencent subsidiary behind Call of Duty Mobile, Arena of Valor and Pokémon Unite. We don't know more about it for the moment, but we hope it will be an ambitious RPG with a varied bestiary, and we'll be sure to tell you about it as soon as we have more information.
While Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the latest MCU movie, has just been released in theaters, the card game is getting in the colors of the fictional African country with the new season Wakanda Warriors Marvel Snap.
The rewards season pass includes the Black Panther map and its Ancestors variant, variants of Nakia, Okoye and three mysteries, as well as numerous boosters, credits, gold and avatars. New locations also appear: Shuri's laboratory, the warrior's falls, the vibranium mines and the throne of Wakanda, whose effects will be revealed during the season. And the Marvel Snap multiplayer mode will be here soon too!
With the 2022 World Cup in Qatar just one week away, football fans can test their strategy with the release of Football Manager 2023 on Android, iOS, PC and consoles. Take control of your favorite club and win the biggest competitions in this proven sports management game.
New features include an overhaul of the training center, locker room chat and transfer system, as well as an upgradable coach profile. In addition to the usual mobile port, Apple Arcade subscribers have access to a Touch version that brings the 3D soccer match engine to the smartphone for the first time.
This week we had the release of Dear Ella the new gacha RPG edited by Com2Us Holdings on Android and iOS. Available for free, the title proposes you to change the destiny of Princess Ella, murdered by her uncle but who gets a second chance thanks to her return to the past, 1 year back.
While the storytelling takes place with comic book sections, the rest of the action focuses on collecting new heroes to form an ever more powerful team. Travel the world of Dear Ella, change the fate of the princess and test your combat skills in 10 different game modes. This gacha RPG will turn your heroes into NFTs with a card trading system.
After the success of MIR4 in Korea, Wemade decided to open pre-registration for MIR M, the next title of its license. Also based on blockchain, MIR M will be the direct continuation of MIR4, keeping the same graphical style but offering a freer and more modern character progression system, called Mandala.
Choose between a Vanguard character designed for combat or a Vagabond who will excel in resource gathering, fishing and dungeon exploration. With no current release date, MIR M plans to launch in 170 countries and a blockchain economy linking its various games.
We're back with the World Cup theme with the new FIFA Mobile mode, which allows you to play the competition before the hour. For the occasion, the jerseys and the teams' squads, as well as the commentaries, have been updated.
Already seen in the beta leaks, the passing system is being redesigned to allow players to create more opportunities in small spaces, but also to deliver stronger passes to surprise the opponent.
After Electronic Arts and FIFA broke off their collaboration this year, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association finally decides to launch 4 blockchain games around soccer for the 2022 world cup. This is quite ironic when you refer to the rumors that the end of partnership between EA and FIFA, despite 30 years of good understanding, took place because of corruption and FIFA's growing demands.
The international organization wanted to get $1 billion to extend the exclusivity deal with EA and refused to participate in NFT games to have more control over its content with the idea to work with other companies. Well, FIFA decides to get into NFTs on its own, with four blockchain and web 3.0 mobile games with integrated predictions:
Even if it smells like bullshit play-to-earn from a hundred miles away, there will always be people funding these fake mobile game projects instead of titles that really deserve support.
From Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 November will be held the G-STAR 2022, the biggest gaming convention in Korea. In Busan, more than 250,000 visitors are expected to discover the new mobile and PC titles of the major developers present there such as Nexon, Level Infinite, Netmarble, Krafton or Kakao Games. Let me make a small list of the mobile games presented by each major studio:
This week, the Wild Rift patch 3.5 is released, which will mark the arrival of three new champions: Kayn, the Shadow Reaper, Lillia, the Shy Flower and Aatrox, the Sword of the Darkins. In addition to these new characters, the new game mode One For All will make its temporary appearance soon.
In this mode, all players on a team play the same champion, which can make for some unusual battles. Finally, the new Wild Pass will allow players to win the skin Super Villain from Jhin at level 50.
Released discreetly this week, Mad Skills Snocross takes the torch of Mad Skills Motocross 3 with a little winter touch. As the previous title accumulated 30 million downloads in 1 year, we can expect Snocross to reach a large audience quite quickly, thanks to its arcade physics and speed system with good sensations. For those who are not familiar with the licenses, these side-scrolling games will remind you of the side-view motocross flash games of your childhood with the objective of going down risky slopes as fast as possible.
With its full name Black Clover Mobile: Rise of the Wizard King, the next Black Clover mobile title has been forced to postpone its release to 2023. Despite this disappointment, fans of the manga have been reassured this week with an official confirmation of the worldwide release of Black Clover Mobile in free to play after a closed beta testing phase. We will come back together on the story and the gameplay of this highly anticipated game at the time of its release, so don't miss our next recaps!
To celebrate the third anniversary of the game, COD Mobile welcomes its season 10 World Class. First, we discover the arrival of the snowy map Crossroads Strike, which first appeared in Black Ops Cold War for 12 v 12. The new game mode Escort is also available now. It takes place in two phases like a Payload, attack and defense, during which the offensive team must escort a truck to the objective.
Finally, in this month of the beginning of the World Cup, the new Battle Pass features three world-class players: Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr.
Let's continue the list of news with birds like no other. Indeed, Rovio Entertainment has just announced the progressive launch of Angry Birds Racing on Android. The first countries to have access to it will be Canada and the United States, and we don't yet know the official release date of the title worldwide in full version.
However, we already know that the first players from these countries, or armed with their best VPN, will be able to discover a 2D multiplayer racing game with 50 playable characters, such as birds or pigs, and that they will be able to obtain speed boosts during the race by performing ever more impressive tricks.
The other thing to remember is thatAngry Birds Racing will offer the possibility to race with friends from its launch. But the title is only the first of the 10 games announced by Rovio to launch directly, so the future will surely hold other nice surprises!
From November 18-20, the world's top 32 players will compete on the TFT 7.5 set at the Dragon Age Championship. In total, more than $450,000 in cash prizes will be shared among the participants, with $150,000 going to the winner.
On the French side, we have two qualified players that we will have to support during these three days of competitions: Double61 from Karmine Corp and L3S Coco from the Solary team.
Attention deep sea lovers, Creatures of the Deep is being released this week on Android and iOS to turn you into an ambitious little fisherman. A graphically stunning title, Creatures of the Deep offers a multiplayer fishing experience in exotic locations and with catches ranging from the smallest fry to giant sea monsters.
Of course, you'll also be able to catch a lot of crap, like bikinis or lost beavers. Then sell your catch to buy better gear, build your island and solve a local mystery.
Drop your Magicarps and get ready for new arrivals in Pokémon Unite. According to information found on the test server of TiMi Studios' MOBA, two Pokémon are expected to arrive soon. Dragapult will be the next attacker and Urshifu the next Pokémon legendary all-rounder to join the arena. But another creature is expected to make an appearance according to leaks from the dataminer known as elchicoeevee. According to his information, we could see the appearance of Comfey in support and six new items held in future updates.
Always a source of hype, the mobile FPS Battlefield is making news this week by launching an open beta phase in select countries. Scheduled for a worldwide release, the title from Electronic Arts' license will be available free-to-play on Android and iOS in the future and intends to preserve the essence of the license's gameplay on PC and consoles.
For now, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore have the opportunity to test the game. This beta brings many improvements compared to the alpha, but any progress will be reset before the release of the game which has not yet been announced.
Two new match-3 games join the catalog of Android and iOS games available this week. First, Charlotte's table offers you to set up your own restaurant with enticing food visuals and a casual match-3 background.
And then we were treated to the release of Stone Breaker, a title that makes you merge types of gems to perform attacks with a gacha RPG background. With 70 heroes to unlock and synergies of elements to take into account, Stone Breaker allows everyone to make the gameplay their own with a different fighting style.
Some time ago, Riot filed another complaint against Mobile Legends for obvious copyright reasons. This complaint was filed in the United States and received by the District Court of California. Unfortunately for the American company, this court ruled that the case should be settled in China and not in the US since Riot is owned by Tencent, a Chinese company and Mobile Legends is owned by Moonton, also a Chinese company.
Riot is obviously very disappointed with this decision and says that this decision doesn't make sense because "on top of that, Moonton's copied game isn't even available in China". Riot says it is considering all legal options to enforce its copyright, and may even appeal.
In 4 years of development before its release this week, the vertical shooter Skies of Chaos has taken off. Offered via your Netflix subscription, this title is a shooter with beautiful finishing touches and good feelings that will make you live with the thrill of adrenaline in more than 50 levels, 12 boss fights and all this with a great variety of upgrades and customization of game style.
Alongside the release of Skies of Chaos, Netflix confirms its sixth studio buyout with the acquisition of Spry Fox, which developed the games Cozy Grove and Triple Town, among others.
If you haven't seen the news, Elon Musk has done a bit of forcing to take control of Twitter by buying shares and now CEO of the company, has decided that the "verified" badge on Twitter accounts would now be accessible via the Twitter Blue subscription at 8 euros per month. Why am I talking about this in a recap on mobile gaming news? Simply because this system causes a huge wave of fake news from official accounts that are not really, especially in video games.
In this tweet, a fake Nintendo certified account is openly trolling, but some people are taking advantage of it to spread bogus rumors or give credence to cryptocurrency scams. So be careful what you read and definitely don't trust this verified badge until the situation has calmed down/ You can also use this Chrome extension to see who paid for its verification!
With the explosion of the mobile gaming market in the last decade, one might wonder which game really stands out. Usually we talk about money generated, but this time it's about downloads. Which game do you think is the most downloaded mobile title in the last 10 years? Candy Crush? Coin Master ? Subway Surfers? Clash of Clans or even Angry Birds? Well no, the king of downloads is Talking Tom & Friends.
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the Talking Tom license created by Outfit7 launched with Talking Tom Cat in 2010 with the concept of having a virtual cat in your phone. In addition to offering a tamagotchi-like gameplay to take care of the cat, you could speak into your phone's microphone and have Tom repeat your sentences. A simple but totally viral feature, this repetition is what launched the success of Talking Tom to the point of making it a license with more than 20 games to date with 10 billion cumulative downloads.
Finally, we conclude this recap with the beta test of Arena Breakout, a mobile FPS announced by Tencent in 2021. Currently, the closed beta is held in Oceania but a launch in other regions is already planned.
Inspired by Escape from Tarkov, this title may try to convince some of the Lost Light community with a clear focus on competition and realism. For example, healing is not limited to raising a HP bar, but must match one of the 10 types of injuries you can suffer. In the open world of the Dark Zone, survive and escape by choosing your stuff well with a great customization of weapons and your approaches to the different areas.
With this busy week in news, I couldn't tell you in detail about the closed beta test of Mission Zero elsewhere in the world, the first anniversary of the excellent gacha Figure Fantasy, the Undecember update which adds new runes, the 3.9 update of Cookie Run or the leak of the next simulacra Tower of Fantasy, but if you actively play these titles, you are surely already aware of the new content planned.
Thank you all for reading this far, and see you next week for more mobile gaming news! If you missed last week's news, our previous recap was about a Marvel Snap multiplayer mode with friends, The Sims 5 on Mobile, news about Warzone on phone and much more.
If not, consider checking out our list of new Android and iOS games of the moment.
