Dehya is a 5 star Pyro character who fights with a claymore. She has the advantage of being quite flexible and of being able to play several roles: DPS, sub-DPS or team tank support. We explain how to play it well and equip it. With this complete guide dedicated to Dehya from Genshin Impact, you will know which artifacts and weapons to assign to her in order to have a good build, but also in which teams to play her. We take this opportunity to give you some tips and tricks for beginners.
Dehya is a 5-star character released during the 3.5 update of Genshin Impact. There are several ways to get Dehya via the Character Wishes for summons.
You can try to unlock Dehya in Genshin Impact from March 1 until March 22, 2023 by performing summons on her Auric Blaze banner.
However, as of the 3.6 update, it will join the Standard Wish. You will then have a chance to get Dehya by summoning her on Standard Wish or by losing a 50/50.
It must be said that Dehya's performance is quite average. Her constellations can thus help to improve the character. However, we advise you to wait to see her fall in the Standard Wish or after a 50/50 loss rather than spend all your Primogems on her.
Her C1 The Flame Incandescent increases Dehya's max HP and will provide a damage boost to her elemental skills based on her max HP.
The Sand-Blades Glittering increases the area duration of Dehya's elemental attack.
Dehya can play several roles in Genshin Impact : DPS, sub-DPS or support tank. She has the particularity of having a large number of HP, even if we regret that she doesn't really take advantage of them to take damage. Her elemental attack and her elemental rampage are mainly based on her ATK.
With her elemental skill Molten Inferno, Dehya creates a Fiery Sanctum that stays on the field for 12 seconds. You can reposition it by casting it again. Dehya will then re-damage the field, but this will not affect the original duration.
When an enemy in this area takes damage, a coordinated attack is also triggered (once every 2.5 seconds), which makes it easy to perform elemental reactions. But that's not all: characters in this area will have their resistance to interruption increased. In addition, they will receive less damage; about 50% is delivered to Dehya instead up to a certain threshold.
With this ability, Dehya is now able to apply the Pyro element off-screen, but only once every 2.5 seconds for 12 seconds. Also, the active character will receive less damage and will not be interrupted anymore. This is convenient for fragile characters like Yoimiya or Klee. Dehya replaces the role of a shield here.
However, its zone remains only 12 seconds and takes 20 seconds to recharge. So she won't be able to provide enough protection (unless you have her C2). And even if Dehya absorbs damage from her allies, she should be able to hold on thanks to her Stalwart and True passive, which allows her to recover 20% of her max HP when they are below 40%, then 6% of her max HP every 2 seconds for 10 seconds.
Dehya's elemental rampage Leonine Bite instead destines her to stay on the battlefield. Dehya enters a state of Blazing Lioness for 4 seconds. She automatically attacks enemies continuously and deals Pyro damage based on her ATK and max HP.
These are not normal attacks, so increasing their level will not help in this case. Also, Dehya will not benefit from the skills of characters like Yelan and Xinqiu. On the other hand, by pressing the normal attack button, you can speed up Dehya's combos.
In addition, if the Fiery Sanctum is present when Dehya activates her elemental rampage, she will retrieve it and put it back on after the duration of Blazing Lioness expires.
With the Unstinting Succor passive, when Dehya recovers her Fiery Sanctum (either with her elemental ability or her elemental rampage) the damage Dehya takes is reduced for 6 seconds and for 9 seconds the resistance to interruption of characters in the Fiery Sanctum area is greatly increased.
The choice of Dehya's equipment in Genshin Impact depends mostly on the build you want to give her: support, sub-DPS or DPS? As a support build, you'll want to focus on her HP%, while for a more DPS oriented build, you'll need offensive stats, but also a fair amount of energy recharge.
We detail the best weapons and artifacts to equip on Dehya according to the build you want to give him.
To play Dehya as a DPS / Burst DPS, you will need a build with not only offensive stats : ATK, critical rate and critical damage, but also a lot of energy recharge. That's why we recommend the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set. With two pieces you increase the energy recharge by 20% and with 4 the damage of the elemental rampage is increased by 25% of the energy recharge.
You can also use the Crimson Witch of Flames set to increase Pyro damage by 15% with 2 coins, then elemental reaction damage related to the Pyro element.
For a tank support build, go for the Toughness of the Millelite artifact set. 2 pieces increase HP by 20% and 4 pieces boostATK of your team members by 20% after an elemental skill hits an enemy.
If you want to play Dehya with Dendro characters to do Burn or Burgeon, we advise you to use elemental mastery with Gilded Dreams or Flower of Paradise Lost.

Dehya is a versatile character in Genshin Impact, so you can play her in many teams, whether it's to protect your characters and increase their resistance to interruption, to apply the Pyro element off-screen or as a DPS. Unfortunately, she does not excel in any of these areas.
To play her as a DPS, the best option will be a mono Pyro team with Dehya, Xiangling / Bennett / Kazuha or Sucrose. You can also replace Xiangling with Mona or Ayato to make Vaporize.
In team support, where you never do Dehya's elemental rampage, you can play her with a DPS like Hu Tao, Klee or Yoimiya with Xingqiu and Yelan as support for example. She is then a good substitute for Zhongli.
Dehya will also function in a Melt Team with Ganyu, Nahida and Bennett. In addition to the Melt reaction, you will perform Burn reactions with Nahida. In addition, Dehya will increase Ganyu's resistance to interruption.
Thanks to its off-camera Pyro application, Dehya can be played in a Burn team with Kazuha, Nahida and Bennett. This team is mainly oriented on multi-target.
Dehya is a member of the Eremites, a group of mercenaries operating in the Sumerian desert. She was born on April 7 and is said to be in her early twenties. She is approximately 1m68 tall.
That's it for this guide dedicated to Dehya from Genshin Impact. While the character enjoys a great deal of versatility, it is regrettable that she does not shine more in one of these roles. There will often be a better option. On the other hand, she is still a fun character to play, especially for her elemental rampage.
If you like its character design, gameplay and are not looking for a meta team, you can easily play it with a proper build and in one of the recommended teams. In addition, new equipment and characters can be added to the game later on.
