Mualani Genshin Impact is a vape hypercarry which means that she benefits best when paired with Pyro characters. That said, Xiangling is a good candidate for this. Despite not having the best Pyro application, this introduces no problem to Mualani as her attacks are not as frequent as other Hydro DPS in the game.

Its two-piece effect gives a 15% damage increase while the wield is on-field and is in Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Mualani's attacks in Genshin

Mualani gains 60 Nightsoul Points and enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state upon casting her elemental skill. Nightsoul is a new mechanic that’s only unique to characters from Natlan. 

In this state, she will continuously consume Nightsoul Points and mount her surfboard, which increases her movement speed and interruption resistance. Hitting opponents grants her up to three wave momentum stacks, allowing her normal attacks to deal Nightsoul-aligned Hydro damage through Sharky’s Bite. Every damage done with this ability is considered normal attack damage. 

This ability is best used against multiple opponents. When she is able to secure three stacks of Wave Momentum, Mualani will use Sharky’s Surging Bite instead which deals more damage than the former. In addition to dealing damage, her elemental skill enables her to swiftly traverse both land and water on her surfboard. 

On the flip side, Mualani’s elemental burst allows her to fire Super Shark Missile that travels towards fixed targets, which lands Nightsoul-aligned AoE hydro damage based on her Max HP.

Mualani’s A1 summons up to two puffers upon hitting any opponent with Sharky’s Surging Bite, which restores 20 Nightsoul points. This enables her to stay on the field much longer. Meanwhile, her second passive allows Mualani to gain Wavechaser’s Exploits for 20 seconds when a party member triggers Nightsoul Burst.
