Heartopia is full of hobbies, one of which is Insect Catching. However, some rare specimens are hard to find and improving your level of hobby is essential. In this guide, we look at how to become an expert Insect Catching Heartopia player.
How do I unlock the Heartopia Insect Catching hobby?
Heartopia Insect Catching is one of the many hobbies you'll unlock a few hours into your adventure on the island.
1. Reach D.G. Member level 6
You'll need to make some progress in the game before you can go bug hunting. First, you need to reach D.G. Member level 6. You'll then get a hobby expansion voucher, which you can spend with one of the three hobby mentors: Bailey J (birdwatching), Massimo (cooking) and Naniwa (Insect Catching).
2. Meet the 3 hobby mentors
Go and meet these 3 NPCs. If you're most interested in Insect Catching as a hobby, then Naniwa is the one to look out for. But first you need to talk to the other two mentors.
3. Go back to Naniwa
Talk to Naniwa. You can then give her a hobby extension voucher to unlock Heartopia Insect Catching.
4. Get the insect net
Once you've unlocked this new hobby, Naniwa will give you the insect net. The tool will be added directly to your toolbox.

Capture mechanisms: how do you catch insects?
Get the insect net: open your toolbox (icon at the bottom right of your screen), then get the insect net.
Spot an insect: for your first hunt, you'll find butterflies around Naniwa. Otherwise, feel free to wander around the island. Insects are everywhere!
Approach gently: some insects are shy. Approach them gently.
Press the action button on the insect net: you can press once, or hold down the icon, to send out bubbles. The insects are then captured inside. They will then be automatically stored in your backpack.

How can I improve my Heartopia Insect Catching?
