On the agenda this week: the opening of Rogue Company Elite pre-registration, a lot of Christmas updates, the announcement of a Hitori No Shita game, the release date of the augmented reality basketball game signed by Niantic and much more to discover in this recap. We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️
Let's start our recap of the week with the Rogue Company mobile port which is once again making news. After a gameplay trailer released a few months ago, Rogue Company Elite opens its pre-registrations on Android and iOS.
According to some leaks, the shooter from Hi-Rez Studios will have a 120 FPS mode and a fully customizable interface. Currently available in soft launch in Mexico, the game should still be released in several countries before a worldwide launch. I'll redirect you to our article to find out how to access the Rogue Company Elite pre-registration.
After Pokémon GO, Harry Potter: Wizard Unite or Pikmin Bloom, Niantic has just announced the NBA All-World release date, its next augmented reality game on Android and iOS. Roam the streets in the real world to collect NBA basketball players and compete against nearby players in 1-on-1 games or free throw sessions.
French players will be able to enjoy the game in early access as of January 17, 2023, one week before the rest of the world, on the occasion of the NBA Paris Game 2023, where the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons will compete.
Let's move on to our great discovery of the week: the announcement of the game Hitori No Shita: The Outcast. Mixing Chinese folk culture, fantasy folklore and overpowered martial arts, the trailer reveals great gameplay images. The fighting sensations look very nice and if it's not too much chaos on the screen, it will surely be a killer to try on Android and iOS to dive into the universe of the original webcomic.
Riot Games decides to bring a little magic to the Mobile Summoner's Rift with its Wild Rift 3.5b patch. The enchantress Lillia arrives with her ideal jungle and mid-air kit in addition to the Snowball Battle and Spirit Blossom events which have their own line of skins. Read more about the balancing of this update in our Wild Rift 3.5b patch article.
Scheduled for January 2023 on iOS and Android, Devolver Tumble Time has just opened its pre-registrations. In this match-3, you'll have to score as many points as possible in 60-second levels by chaining combos together. But if you know the Devolver Digital studio, you suspect that there is something fishy going on.
Indeed, Devolver Tumble Time is a parody of match-3 that integrates the codes of mobile games to divert them with a lot of humor. With 14 different currencies, a multitude of characters to unlock and omnipresent ads, the economic model of mobile games takes its toll in this game full of humor. For more details, check out our article on the opening of Devolver Tumble Time pre-registration.
This week, you can add Ninja Must Die to your list of games to try on mobile. Fans of runner games are going to be served with this little nugget with nervous controls and an ultra gripping atmosphere. The visual style is sublime and you can alternate between endless mode, bosses or PvP in 3v3 to not get bored.
Avoid traps, jump on platforms, over obstacles and face enemies at full speed without dying in Ninja Must Die, a free runner to discover on Android and iOS.
To celebrate the holiday season, Clash Royale has just released the Clashmas update, which adds a new magic item: the Card Boost Potion. With this item, you will be able to temporarily increase the level of one of your cards to that of your king's turn.
On the cosmetic side, 4 new skins Christmas-themed towers are available, as well as new emotes and battle banners. Last week, Netflix announced the sequel to Valiant Hearts at the Game Awards. This time, Netflix is adding new games to its catalog. The first is Kentucky Route Zero, an independent narrative title inspired by text-based games. Its goal is to immerse players in an immersive and contemplative road trip.
Then, we discover that the Twelve Minutes mobile port also joins the Netflix catalog. In this game, you are immersed in a time loop and must investigate in your apartment to discover the truth about a tragedy and end your ordeal.
In addition to these two games already available on Android and iOS, Netflix also announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Vikings: Valhalla would be available to its subscribers in 2023.
For Christmas, the tree is in the spotlight at home, but Korean studio Devsisters prefers the pinecone for their new Pinecone Cookie who joins the roster of sweet creatures in Cookie Run: Kingdom. I got him yesterday morning and he's dropping big bombs on the front of my training, which is pretty fun. With the events in the Stories by the Fire update and the BTS collaboration, there's plenty to keep you busy in-game for a while. We'll give you all the details on the Pinecone Cookie release and the Cookie Run: Kingdom Year End event.
But this week there are many other updates, including Summoners War with the arrival of the Puppeteer monster, but also Diablo Immortal and its update Terror's Tide or the two new twin classes of Black Desert Mobile. We can't tell you everything in the recap!
If you follow our recaps, you already know that some publishers like Riot and Ubisoft frequently join forces to fight toxicity in their games. But here's a brand that's taking real action. With the Dyson Zone headset, you'll not only be able to listen to your best dubstep solo cue on Wild Rift while filtering the air to purify it of toxicity from your Yasuo mate in 0/12.
The headset is a bit scary for the future, but for those who are into new technologies, maybe the future is wearing a vacuum cleaner on your mouth during your gaming sessions.
While PUBG Mobile has just been voted esport game of the year on phones at the Esports Awards 2022, the competitive news turns to Legends of Runeterra, which crowns its new world champion.
After two days of competition during which the 16 best players in the world faced each other, it is finally AragOrnn who wins the final with a score of 2 to 0 against Teddy314. In addition to the title of Legends of Runeterra World Champion, AragOrnn will take home $40,000, while the second place player will receive $25,000 and the third place player $18,000.
If you need a little entertainment in the heart of winter, you have plenty of events to choose from. In addition to the BTS events at Cookie Run, I invite you to check out the virtual AURORA concert on Sky: Children of the Light which takes place every 4 hours for 45 minutes until January 2nd. It's a worthwhile experience, with Sky's magical colors and AURORA's emotional music, which started on December 8.
Announced more than two years ago, the Just Cause mobile adaptation is once again postponed by Square Enix. The studio did not communicate the reasons for this postponement and did not indicate a new release date for Just Cause Mobile.
This is quite surprising considering that the game has been available in early access on Android via TapTap since April and that it didn't seem to suffer from any major bugs during our tests. Anyway, fans of the franchise will have to wait a little longer to enjoy Just Cause Mobile worldwide.
Becoming a millionaire by playing Fortnite is possible at the end of this year with the partnership between the Epic Games' Battle Royale and the famous American YouTuber MrBeast. On an island created for the occasion, you will have to accumulate a maximum of points by avoiding obstacles and collecting coins.
At the end of MrBeast's extreme survival challenge, the player with the highest score will win $1 million. To accompany the event, a series of quests will allow players to unlock cosmetic items, and two skins featuring the YouTuber will be available in the store.
Also on the Fortnite side, recent leaks suggest that an in-game chat should soon be released for players who do not want to or cannot use voice chat.
In addition to the postponement of Just Cause Mobile, Square Enix has also just announced that the Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis beta, the FF7 Remake on mobile, was shifted to the summer 2023. Originally planned for this year, FF7 Ever Crisis will not only take back the Final Fantasy 7 storyline, but also those of the 4 spin-offs released on PSP, PlayStation 2 and mobile.
To make fans of the license wait, Square Enix has released a new gameplay trailer that gives a glimpse of the combat phases as well as the menus.
Pokémon Unite is also launching its wave of content to keep players busy while the developers take a break for the holidays. Look for Pokémon Urshifu available now with new held items and the launch of the Snowball Battle, which runs through January 8.
But that's not all, as a new Battle Pass will begin on December 26 with the arrival of Pokémon Dragapult three days later. This pass will be accompanied by the Full Fury Team Clash between the blue team of Mouscoto and the red team of Cinderace in fierce battles until February 5th 2023.
Organized in South Korea since 2000, the World Cyber Games are back this year with a new competition focused on 4 games: Mobile Legends, Clash Royale, Hearthstone and Valorant.
