Recap #238: Mobile games news of the week

In recap 238, we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases not to be missed.

Sit back and relax as we bring you the week's mobile games news! On the programme: we're saying goodbye to Call of Duty Warzone Mobile and Marvel Mystic Mayhem, we're going through hordes of enemies in HunterxHunter NenxSurvivor, we're playing border guards in Black Border 3 and we've got a whole heap of other news to share with you.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

• PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid's Curse has been released on Play Store and App Store, for $25. This new horrific adventure takes place in Ise-Shima, Japan, where legends of mermaids come to life.
• Warframe is finally available on Play Store. Play as a TPS in a vibrant world, collecting weapons and 50 different types of armour, and customising them to suit your style of play so you can complete hardcore multiplayer missions.
• Skyship Quest Story is available on Play Store and App Store. Climb aboard a flying machine, recruit your crew and set off to explore the skies in a cute pixel-art atmosphere, for $7.
• Black Border 3 is available on Play Store. Put on your customs uniform after dark and hunt down forged documents, smuggled goods and anything else that doesn't comply with border crossing regulations.

HunterxHunter NenxSurvivor, the survivor inspired by the anime and manga licence, is available on Play Store and App Store. Meanwhile, the demanding combat RPG Glory Ages - Vikings has been released on the App Store. I Am Airport Security, the security guard simulator, is available from Play Store.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and test phases

Here's a selection of the pre-registrations and beta releases that made their mark on Android and iOS this week.

• Phantom Edge: Oath unveils itself and opens pre-registration on Play Store. This MMORPG borrows the martial arts from Where Winds Meet, with a backdrop of revenge and death that makes you stronger.
• Ragnarok Online 3 is announced in Japan. It's the same old team, the same old class system and the same old world, but this time the guilds will be able to beat the crap out of each other in 40 versus 40 battles.
• Neo Artifacts will be released on Play Store and App Store on 5 March 2026. This gacha RPG features tactical combat in isometric view with chibi-like characters.
• ESCAPE: IMMERSION is revealed in a trailer: this linear survival adventure is a mix of Inside and Little Nightmares, with VHS-style visuals.

Then there's Faction Packed, a rucksack management game arriving on Play Store this month. Meanwhile, side-scrolling RPG ZeroHunter is in beta test. STONEAGE IDLE ADVENTURE, Netmarble's idle RPG, will be out on Play Store and App Store on 3 March.

Go Ape Ship! a collaborative multiplayer game set in a spaceship, has been released on Play Store and App Store. Medabots Survivors, a mecha-based survivor game, will be out on Play Store and App Store on 25 February. Then there's Hatch Dragons, a dragon breeding and collecting game, out in March on Play Store and App Store.

Then there's the old-school RPG Drova - Forsaken Kin, due for release on Play Store on 23 April.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

The mobile JV industry has more news in store for you this week:

• The closure of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Marvel Mystic Mayhem and Sonic the Hedgehog Classic 1 and 2 has been announced.
• Meta turns Horizon Worlds into a mobile game. Following the redundancy of 10% of the teams working on virtual reality, Meta has just announced that its project is to become a mobile game.
