This is a blow to fans of the mobile Battle Royale: Activision has announced the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile closure. The game will cease to operate on 17 April 2026 with the shutdown of its servers, after just over 2 years of activity. The game has already been removed from the stores.
Just today we learned, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on the game's official page, that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be shutting down.
Activision has reassured us, however: Call of Duty Mobile is not affected by this closure, and will even benefit from a seasonal update in the near future.

Its little brother, Warzone Mobile, has been removed from the Android and iOS stores since this morning's announcement. But if you've been following the news surrounding the game, the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile closure doesn't come as a total surprise. Activision has been communicating about the end of support for the game for a year now.
At the time, the studio hinted that the servers would remain open, but that no additional content would be added to the game. It seems that Activision has changed its mind.
According to Activision, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile failed to "meet the expectations" of its publisher. According to Pocket Gamer's figures, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile generated $1.4 million 4 days after its launch, compared with $4.2 million for Call of Duty Mobile.

What's more, according to an analysis by Eurogamer, the licence is losing ground with gamers.
After 17 April 2026 and the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile closure, you will no longer be able to use your CoD points in the game, but the content you have unlocked in-game will be available for use in other versions of Warzone, PC or console.
So it's a premature end to an iconic port of the licence. Don't worry, though: if you're looking for an alternative to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, we've put together a list of the best mobile Battle Royales!
