The announcement was made during the last State of Play, and now it's official: Square Enix's new Paranormasight is available on the Android and iOS stores! The eagerly-awaited sequel to The Seven Mysteries of Honjo offers a brand new horrific adventure, this time set in the Ise-Shima region. Here's a quick rundown, to coincide with the release of Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse.
Following the critical success of Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, which set us in the Honjo region, Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse brings you a brand new curse and new characters to discover.
In this horrific adventure immersed in the Japanese folklore of mermaids, you play as Yuza Minakuchi, a young fisherman who must unravel the secrets behind the curse affecting his isolated island.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is a visual novel that focuses on the exact reproduction of the environments in which it takes place, with alternating VHS-style visuals and hand-drawn graphics in the traditional style of prints. Visually, it's sublime. But what about the gameplay?
We're not going to lie, you won't be surprised by the gameplay in Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse. The game uses the same mechanics as its predecessor:

However, there are a few new features, notably the diving mini-game, which adds a little depth (no pun intended) to the gameplay. If you like visual novels or puzzle games that put your investigative mind to the test, take advantage of the release of Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse to test or retest this iconic Square Enix licence. The game is available for just under €30 on Android and iOS.
