Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner: location, best team and strategy for Deep Blue Sorrow

Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner

Like the Headless Rider, the Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner is an anomaly boss. After beating him once via the Deep Blue Sorrow Anomaly Commission, you can take him on again via the Exploration Guide. This will cost you 60 Pixels. In this guide, I explain where to find this whale, how to beat it and the best teams to fight it.

Unlocking and location of the NTE Sea Prisoner

The Sea Prisoner is a Neverness to Everness Anomaly boss. You can find him by accepting the Deep Blue Sorrow Anomaly Commission. The NTE Lonely player is another Anomaly Commission for which we've provided a guide!

Details of the Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner

Here's how to unlock his battle, and his location in Hethereau:

  1. Buy a car : you'll be able to invest in your first vehicle very early on in the game. To do so, you'll need to reach Tycoon Level 2 - see our NTE beginner's guide for more information on the early game.
  2. From the City Tycoon menu, go to Hethereau's Hobbies and then Anomaly Commissions. Choose the quest "Deep Blue Sorrow".

  3. Now follow the quest path. From Coastal Highway Z42, use your car to take the Nautili Tunnel. You're about to discover one of the most beautiful places in the game, a fully glazed underwater tunnel.
  4. Follow the tunnel and you'll come across the Anomaly.

The Anomaly's weaknesses

The NTE Sea Prisoner is weak to the Espert Anima attribute. However, it has no particular resistance.

The best team to beat the Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner

Now that you know the Sea Prisoner's weakness to Deep Blue Sorrow, you need to build a team around the Anima attribute to trigger Esper's reactions:

  • Curse (Anima + Incantation): inflicts an additional follow-up attack stack equal to 20% of Anima and Incantation damage taken over 12 seconds.
  • Discord (Incantation + Chaos + Anima): Reduces the Break bar of NTE Sea Prisoners, allowing them to be staggered more quickly.
  • Blossom (Cosmos + Anima): Generates a life bud near the Sea Prisoner. This bud causes 5 pistils of life to hatch. These then fly towards enemies within range, exploding every two seconds. The pistils deal AoE damage.
  • Charge (Lakshana + Cosmo + Anima): combines with Blossom and gives the active character 10 ultimate energies when the pistils do their damage.

Battle strategy and patterns

Have you assembled the best team to beat the Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner? Now it's time to adopt the best strategy to beat the Deep Blue Sorrow boss with ease. Here's some advice from Mobi.gg:

Phase 1 of the NTE Sea Prisoner

  1. Choose the best moment to attack the boss: I'd advise you to wait until the Sea Prisoner jumps into the air and falls back into the water. It will then remain motionless for a few seconds.

Best time to attack NTE Sea Prisoner

  2. During the fight, the NTE Sea Prisoner will shoot red water bubbles at you. You'll need to avoid them at the right moment.
  3. At times, a vortex will appear beneath your feet. Once again, you'll have to dodge the boss who appears in the heart of this vortex, or just in front of you.

Phase 2 of the Sea Prisoner

  • When the Neverness to Everness Sea Prisoner's life bar reaches the halfway point, phase 2 begins.
  • The Sea Prisoner also sends you huge waves. Dodge at the right moment to launch a riposte. Be aware that you can get through the waves by dodging. Absolutely avoid moving away from these waves.
  • The boss throws a red anchor at you in a straight line. Once again, you'll have to dodge.

As you'll have gathered, Deep Blue Sorrow is a fight that relies heavily on dodging. It's not a difficult fight, but if you trigger it in the early game, it'll be a story of patience.
