While pre-registration has just opened on iOS, the World War Armies beta is currently available on the Google for Android devices while the official release is scheduled for June. Let's take a look at this new RTS that plunges us into the clashes of the Second World War.
Developed by Hypemasters, World War Armies: PvP WW2 RTS is a real-time strategy game set in the context of the Second World War, in which you must manage your troops to take control of the territory.
Graphically, the game adopts a realistic style in isometric view. The maps are quite detailed and the action is always readable.

World War Armies is only designed for 1-on-1 PvP battles, but you can still fight the AI in Training mode to test your tactics.
Only the Skirmish game mode is available at the moment. The objective is to control areas with your units until one of the point counters drops to zero or a headquarters is destroyed.
To do this, you need to accumulate supplies, which will allow you to send new units or build buildings on the map. You can also place troops in buildings so that they are under cover.
Among your troops, you have infantry units, flamethrowers and engineers to repair your assault and healing vehicles. Units can be upgraded with in-game currency, but in order to upgrade them you will need to have collected enough cards of that unit, a la gacha.

For the moment, 2 nations are available in the beta version of World War Armies: United States and Germany. Each faction has its own units that need to be upgraded individually.
By winning victories, you will earn points to unlock rewards on the Path to Glory: currency, new maps, new units and more. The higher you climb the rankings, the higher your rank.
These are modelled on the real military ranks: Private, Corporal, Sergeant, Sergeant First Class, Master Sergeant, Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier General, Lieutenant General, General and Field Marshal.

So much for our first impressions of the World War Armies beta. Finally, we find ourselves with a simplified version of games like Company of Heroes or Starcraft, but rather well adapted to mobile gameplay. The whole thing seems to lack a bit of content, but we will have to follow the evolution of the game to see if content is added regularly.
To play the World War Armies beta, head to the Google Play Store to download the early access version before the release in June.
