Recap #233: What's new this week in mobile gaming?

Mobi.gg's 233 mobile games news recap

In recap #233, we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases not to be missed.

Sit back and relax as we round up all the week's mobile games news! On the programme: Sea of Stars announces its arrival on mobile, Civilization VII comes to phones, a Palworld card game is on the way, and we've got a whole heap of other news to share with you.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • Dragon Traveler is out on Play Store and App Store. The tale takes you through a colourful 3D world with collectable characters to keep you company and fill your compos. We've got the Dragon Traveler codes for you on Mobi.gg!
  • Vampire Master is available on Play Store. This dark fantasy MMO blends oriental mythology with the gothic world of vampires.

Last but not least, Dumb Ways to Die is the Epic Games free game of the week.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and testing phases

Here's a selection of the pre-registrations and beta releases that made their mark this week on Android and iOS.

  • Sea of Stars, the turn-based RPG that made its mark on video games in 2023, arrives on Play Store and App Store on 7 April.
  • Inazuma Eleven Cross has just been announced by Level-5. g: Level-5 has unveiled a new game and is back with a strategy experience, a brand new scenario and a slightly surprising play location... a boat.
  • Civilization VII is on its way to the Apple Arcade. Civ 7 wasn't entirely convincing, with some fairly radical changes and an unsuitable interface, but we wonder whether the cocktail will work better on the phone.
  • Coffee Talk is out on Play Store and App Store on 30 March. You take on the role of a barista in a fantasy version of Seattle, where you listen to elves and other creatures confide in you.

We continue with God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Prosperity for this Beloved City! is the long name of Kadokawa Corporation's next mobile and PC game, announced for 2026 in Japan. Compile Heart this week promises a school RPG to rival Persona, due out soon! Meanwhile, Suways Surfers City is up for pre-registration ahead of its worldwide release on Play Store and App Store on 26 February.

Then there's Genesis War, a strategic RPG which is now open for pre-registration on Play Store. Aniimo, the open world game, launches its beta on 23 January 2026. Clue Murder by Death, a cluedo-like game, is scheduled for release on Play Store and App Store. Meanwhile, Armored Frontline Warzone, the arcade action game, is opening its pre-registration on Play Store and App Store.

Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation is preparing its mobile adaptation for 2026. Ultraman: Warrior of Light, the 3D tactical RPG, goes into open beta on 29 January 2026 via TapTap and App Store.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

There's more from the mobile JV industry this week:

  • Palworld announces an official card game. Why stop at copying the gameplay of one of the world's biggest licences when you can also copy its derivative products?
  • The Sims are back in the news with their first news drop of 2026, and Project Rene is indeed a mobile project completely independent of The Sims 5. This experiment aims to be, and I quote, "social, collaborative and mobile-focused" for a complete life simulation game with new ways to co-create and explore the virtual world of The Sims.

See you next week for a recap of mobile games news!

Yaya Yaya would never have spent a single cent on a mobile game. At least, that's what the legend says.
