Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is the new roguelike from ColoPL and Kazuma Kaneko, available via Crunchyroll subscription on Play Store and App Store. Combining deck creation, procedural dungeons and an ultra-modern Tokyo atmosphere, the game gives you just one choice per turn to attack or defend, and every run is different.
  • Auroria is available free on Play Store and App Store. This space sandbox lets you explore alien planets, build your base, gather resources and train companions with a variety of skills.
  • MR Racer: Premium is the free game of the week on the Epic Games Store. The racing game features 15 hypercars, seven game modes, online multiplayer and zero ads for a fast-paced, high-octane arcade experience across five diverse tracks.

Pre-registration, announcements, updates and testing phases

  • Blue Protocol: Star Resonance marks the unexpected return of the famous anime MMORPG abandoned by Tencent. Developed by BOKURA, the game promises raids, bosses and exploration in the world of Magna, with fishing, dancing and cross-platform gameplay planned for 2025 on Play Store, App Store and PC.
  • Neverness to Everness is relaunching a new test phase called Containment Test. Players can sign up to test the strange anomalies of the town of Hethereau, with its custom car chases and supernatural mysteries.
  • Persona 5: The Phantom X will be officially released on mobile and PC on 26 June. This gacha version of the cult RPG lets you explore Tokyo through student life and supernatural battles, with a story independent of the main series and mechanics designed for the mobile format.
  • Crystal of Atlan will arrive on PlayStation, PC, Play Store and App Store on 28 May, with over six million pre-registrations already registered.

Then there's Thronefall , which will finally hit the App Store on 20 May. This indie game offers tactical castle defence gameplay in a day/night cycle. Morikomori Life, already launched in China and now available in Japan on Play Store and App Store, offers a simulated experience of life in a quiet Japanese village.

Meanwhile, Abyssal Soul goes into limited beta on Play Store, with 10,000 places available until 29 May. Set in a Lovecraftian world, you use cards to fight turn-based battles. Dino Quake will be released on Play Store, App Store and PC on 19 June for $5. This pixel-art arcade game lets you take on the role of two little dinos as they battle an alien invasion.

Next up is Silver Palace , unveiled via an 11-minute trailer showing an action-packed demo for this open-world action RPG scheduled for consoles, PC, Android and iOS. In Their Shoes, a narrative game developed in Italy, is due for release on mobile in 2026.

DC Worlds Collide returns for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store, with a new story inspired by Trinity War and Forever Evil. Destiny Child rises from the ashes thanks to a collaboration between Com2uS and Shiftup. The new RPG project is scheduled for release in 2026. As for Planet Party Time , inspired by Fall Guys, it is entering technical testing on PC, with a mobile release planned later.

And last but not least, Foretales, with its mix of storytelling, strategy and deck-building, goes into pre-registration on mobile. Playable offline, it will be available for $5 on Play Store and App Store.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

There's more news from the mobile gaming industry this week:

  • Kingdom Hearts Missing Link will never see the light of day. After years of development and several closed beta phases, Square Enix has announced the definitive cancellation of the X project, leaving fans both disappointed and indifferent.
  • Tribe Nine will shut down its servers on 27 November, just a few months after its release in February. This 3D action RPG set in Neo Tokyo's dystopian universe failed to gather enough of a community to survive, despite its artistic potential.
  • Abyss of Dungeons is the new name of Dark and Darker Mobile, renamed to avoid legal problems between Ironmace and Nexon. The game will be soft-launched on 11 June in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia and Mexico, against a backdrop of ongoing legal wrangling.
  • miHoYo is ranked the 8th most influential brand in China and first in the video games category. Thanks to Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and its communications strike force, the firm dominates Tencent and ByteDance in the Chinese gaming sector and continues to impress internationally.
