Those who succumbed to the phenomenon Among Us phenomenon in 2020, will surely have many long play sessions behind them. But for the hardcore gamers, the consecutive games can quickly become repetitive. The alternative Hide and Seek game mode , however, is a refreshing change of pace. It's fun, fast and not at all mind-boggling! Also known as "wolf" or "hide and seek", there's no need to think or invent stratagems. Just run, hide and complete your missions as quickly as possible before you are killed by the wolf or wolves, which are known at the start of the game. However, this is not an official game mode and all participants should know a few informal rules before jumping in. Another advantage of Hide and Seek on Among Us is that you don't need to be 10 players to fully enjoy the game mode. Playable in small numbers, it is ideal for ending evenings in good spirits, especially if the debates have been heated!
After the games with the proximity chat, the community proves once again that it redoubles its imagination to make the game live!
How do I set the Hide and Seek mode?
The Hide and Seek game mode does not belong to anyone and everyone can adjust the rules and settings according to their preferences. However, for maximum fun, we advise you to choose the following settings:
Map: All three maps are playable. However, The Skeld remains the most popular map for a game of hide and seek. Polus comes second and Mira HQ is often shunned by players.
Number of imposters: The games are both fast and bloody. Whatever the number of participants, we advise you to use only one impostor.
Imposter's vision: at a minimum (0.25), the aim being that he sees as little as possible.
Vision of crewmates: 1.25 or 1.5 for them to have normal vision.
Kill distance: short, the goal being to see the crewmates before killing them!
Kill cooldown: 10 seconds for maximum kills.
Number of tasks: to be set according to the number of innocents in the game.
Mission advancement: two solutions are possible, both helping the wolf and the innocent. Choose "always" or "never" as you see fit. In any case, there will be no emergency meeting if everyone plays the game.
The rest of the settings (voting time, anonymous voting, confirmation of votes, etc.) can be left as default. Indeed, they have no influence on the game.
The rules of the game for Hide and Seek
In this hide-and-seek game mode, the rules are simple. But as it is an alternative game mode created by the community, there is no official dedicated mode. So there are unofficial rules to follow... Hopefully everyone plays along! At the beginning of the game, the impostor must reveal himself. Either he says it orally for those who play in voice, or he goes to the nearest wind to clearly identify himself. Innocent players can remain in voice to communicate and help each other. The impostor, on the other hand, is not allowed to stay in the same channel. If not, he must at least mutate and mute himself!
Playing as an impostor
Once he has been identified, he must wait for about ten seconds at the spawn to let the innocent go into hiding. He can count in his head, or vent-invent-out several times in the same place to wait. Once he has waited long enough, he can go on the hunt and kill as many players as possible in the hope of winning! Be careful, so that it's not too easy, he's generally not allowed to sabotage (except for the doors). You can also make things worse by preventing him from using the Admin or the Cameras.
Playing innocent
The aim of the game is clear to them. They simply have to finish their tasks as quickly as possible while remaining discreet. The crewmates can hide in remote corners to take advantage of the impostor's poor vision. However, they are not allowed to buzz or report the bodies found. A mistake can happen, but it greatly impairs the flow of the game. Define in advance if the innocents can use the Admin and/or the Cameras. Warning: the innocents can communicate with each other verbally and share information. But once they are dead, they must keep quiet! If a ghost follows the impostor to spy on him and share his position, his life becomes far too difficult! So we count on the innocents to be fair and not to take revenge on their tormentor 😉
