Top mobile games for January 2025

Don't know what to try out on your phone - on the move, at home or even in the toilet? Every second spent gaming has to be worthwhile, so the Mobi.gg editorial team has put together a selection of the best mobile games of January 2025. These free and premium quality titles were released in December, but they'll complete your collection and are available now on Android or iOS.

Our favourite mobile games of the month

This month we've fallen for two great new releases. Make room on your storage space because these mobile games are going to be hard to resist.

Monument Valley 3

Let's kick off this top list with a release we've been waiting a long time for at Mobi.gg: Monument Valley 3. The series of two successful puzzle games has just been given a third opus that's just as resplendent as its predecessors.

As with the first two games, it's a puzzle game that plays on impossible geometry, 3D space manipulation and optical illusions to sweep you away into its enchanting world inspired by the work of Escher. There's a host of cute, minimalist new characters and more free-form mechanics, such as travelling by boat, to vary the pleasures without changing the original formula.

The pastel tones of this dreamlike title are unmistakable: this is a game with a low difficulty level, made for enjoying the journey and a poetic visual narrative. We've waited almost 7 years for this third game, and it's a pure joy to rediscover the poetry of Monument Valley. It's another success for UsTwo Games , which is also a studio with a strong work ethic and a commitment to ecology.

Particularly well-suited to pocket format, the title lasts just as long as it needs to. Monument Valley 3 is available in the gaming catalogue of your Netflix subscription for all packages at no extra cost, on Android and iOS.

Go Go Muffin

Next up in this month's top mobile games is Go Go Muffin! This cosy idle-style free-to-play game surprised gamers with its pleasant atmosphere and well-honed mechanics. You can explore a cute, colourful world and socialise with other players around a campfire.

Even if Go Go Muffin is a chill game for relaxing, it's still an MMO that lets you choose your character from 5 available classes, with boss raids and guilds. Form your squad and enjoy the colourful world of Go Go Muffin offered by XD Entertainment both live and in AFK to progress.

Before I tell you about the other games of the month, I wanted to remind you that we've got a page bringing together the very latest mobile games for those who like to be ahead of the trends.
