Theannouncement of Diablo IV was big for the license at BlizzCon. However, we also received news from Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal released a new gameplay video and the development team was able to show the Demon Hunter class in action for the first time. The new "Ultimate Abilities" system, which will allow players to launch powerful attacks after loading them up, was also shown, as well as a quick look at the equipment system, including legendary items.
Diablo Immortal is a mobile MMO ARPG currently planned for iPhone and Android. It would like to include all the things you know and love about Diablo: multitudes of monsters to kill, loot to collect and customize, and powerful and dynamic classes to play with your friends or alone in your corner.
In addition to the new platform, the move to the ARPG MMO for mobile encompasses online multiplayer. While it is still intended that players will be able to enjoy the game single-player, Diablo Immortal will flourish with multiplayer features, including persistent shared areas, instanced dungeons for four players, support for guilds and social systems.
Diablo Immortal takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. As Sanctuary recovers from the aftermath of Baal's invasion and the destruction of Mount Arreat, powerful malevolent forces seek the remains of the World Stone for their evil desires.
This year, attendees will also be able to try out the Demon Hunter through a slice of open-world play across the town of Wortham and the open-air area of Ashwold Cemetery.
Here we can see the game's new mechanic: Ultimate Abilities. All classes must charge their chosen Ultimate using basic attacks. Once this charge is complete, players can choose to increase their basic attack for a short period of time by using a monstrous display of strength, cunning or magic.
A first look at the equipment system can also be seen, including the first legendary loots designed to alter player skills. Turn a flaming fireball into an icy ice orb, change the way Explosive Palm works to target multiple enemies and spread damage among them, or turn deadly arrows into grenades.
