Discover our weekly recap of the mobile games news on Android and iOS issue #96! On the agenda this week: the release of Tower of God on mobile, HunterxHunter pre-registrations, news about Honkai Star Rail, the rumor of a Horizon Zero Dawn game on mobile and much more to discover in this recap. We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️
Let's start this recap with the release of Tower of God: Great Journey on Android and iOS. Based on the eponymous manwah, this gacha RPG will be released on February 14, 2023, for Valentine's Day. In Tower of God: Great Journey, NGEL Games offers you to relive the adventures of Bam and his companions in the floors of the Tower and special dungeons. Multiply combos in active or passive confrontations and overcome all the challenges to reach the top.
Pre-registration for the game is still ongoing on Playstore and Appstore with rewards bonuses like a free epic character for launch. Links to the game are available in our article in description. With the release of Tower of God: Great Journey, now is the perfect time to watch the anime or read the whole webtoon and enjoy the Tower universe before February 14th.
While we were able to test it for the first time at Gamescom, Honkai: Star Rail is finally approaching a worldwide release. The last beta of Hoyoverse's game has just ended and the Chinese studio is opening pre-registrations for Honkai: Star Rail, the latest title in its Honkai license.
The Astral Express train is ready to board for the farthest reaches of the galaxy. In space, you will enjoy tactical battles, gacha, beautiful graphics and a very detailed semi-open world, with dungeons to explore and puzzles to solve.
On Playstore and Appstore, in addition to the pre-registrations, there is a release date indicated on April 26, 2023. This is only an indicative date. It does not mean that this will be the actual release date and could very well be a publicity stunt. What is certain is that Honkai: Star Rail is nearing the end of its development cycle and that its release should not be delayed.
For soccer fans, Omega Strikers is preparing its release for April. This free-to-play soccer game offers 3v3 matches in which you can score with technical moves as well as kick the opposing goalkeeper out of the arena.
Take the field, alone or with your friends. In-game, climb the rankings in competitive matches and train in custom matches. The goal of the game is very simple: score goals while surviving the skills that spice up the game.
Between each round, you will be able to improve your striker's skills to define your playing style with the shared resources of the team. You will have to learn to adapt to the game with your mates. Omega Strikers will be available on April 27 and the little extra is that it's crossplatform and you'll be able to play it via your Android or iOS mobile, but also on Switch and on PC.
Last month, Niantic breathed new life into mobile basketball with the release of NBA All-World, its new augmented reality game. This week, it's NBA Infinite, a game from Tencent, that brings the NBA and its legendary players back to the forefront. Launched in early access, NBA Infinite is currently exclusive to the United States and Canada. The title invites you to create your dream team from among officially licensed, renowned players to dominate the various leagues.
You can also invite your friends to join your team in 3v3 and 5v5 to take on other gatherings of players or humiliate them in a good old fashioned 1v1 on the court. With dynamic 3-minute matches but a too-light sound atmosphere, NBA Infinite promises simple controls and stylish baskets from your phone, if you live in North America. Otherwise, you'll have to wait a little longer for a worldwide release or arm yourself with your best VPN.
Interesting little rumor of the week, the game Horizon and its famous red-haired warrior might be heading to mobile. In a job description on Guerilla Games' website, we discover that the studio is looking to recruit a Game Writer in charge of the narration of a future game that requires experience in mobile or independent game narration.
Rumor has it that the multiplayer game project Horizon Online will one day arrive on mobile in addition to its ports to PC and consoles. And this seems to be confirmed by the idea of an indie game experience, since Horizon Online would be, in the studio's words, a less ambitious game with indie proportions.
Supercell may be cancelling many games, but some continue to dominate their industry, such as Brawl Stars, which just inspired a new mobile game. The SuperGaming studio has just opened pre-registration for Battle Stars, its 4v4 arena shooter.
Openly inspired by Brawl Stars, this title takes the cartoonish multiplayer shooter formula that is a big hit on mobile and will soon launch on Playstore and Appstore. Vary your characters, weapons, and strategies to be the last survivor of this varied battle and the best on the leaderboard. You can pre-register for Battle Stars on the stores while waiting for the release date of the game.
Scheduled only for the U.S. and Canada for now, the mixed reality racing game Hot Wheels: Rift Rally is finally planning a mid-March release and is opening up pre-orders. A new title from Velan Studios after Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, this Hot Wheels title will also use your living room and every other room in the house as an open-air track.
Available as a standard or collector's edition, the game includes a remote control car to customize in-game, 4 gates to define your course, a charger, and an endless possibility of tracks. Alone or with friends, take on Hot Wheels: Rift Rally racing challenges from your living room on Playstation and iOS.
Already in our recap last week thanks to the opening of its pre-registration in Brazil, Honor of Kings is back in the news with a discreet announcement. Like Honkai: Star Rail, Honor of Kings has had its page on the stores updated with a release date: March 20, 2023.
While this is not an officially confirmed date, we can expect to at least see pre-registrations open up more widely with this date. And, if so, it will be a good indicator that this release date could become a reality. It would be a great opportunity to check out a new MOBA, which hasn't been released from China since its launch, except in the form of Arena of Valor.
Limbus Company is a mobile RPG with combat at turn-based, strategy, various characters and lots of stats to master. Made in 2.5D, it imposes its rather unique and dark style and decides to open its pre-registrations on Android, iOS and PC.
In-game, you play as the leader of a group of 12 Sinners, or sinners, who sink into the depths of the Lobotomy Corporation and fight to their last breath. Form teams, manage the combo system and earn as many Clashes as possible against your opponents to discover all the content of Limbus Company at its release. Since pre-registration is open, Project Moon should not be too long to announce the release date of its game.
This week, Netmarble unveiled its financial results for the final quarter of 2022. The company also took the opportunity to unveil the games that should mark its year 2023, on all supports. In addition to PC titles and Chinese releases, the Netmarble release schedule for the first half of 2023 includes:
In the second half of the year, Netmarble plans to release its MMORPG Arthdal Chronicles and its highly anticipated title Solo Leveling: ARISE. Two other titles may or may not be released this year and they are :
Netmarble's schedule is very busy this year, so keep following our recaps if you don't want to miss anything!
As always with Among Us, their blog posts are complicated to decipher! But this week, we can still understand that some elements are planned for 2023 since Innersloth decided to unveil a somewhat light roadmap for its content.
After the release of the Hide n Seek game mode recently, the studio plans to change the game interface very soon. And for the rest of the year, the Among Us 2023 roadmap should see new partnerships, optimized matchmaking, a rework of the quickchat and the long awaited Map number 5.
Spring is coming and you may be in the mood to expand your virtual garden. Along with flowery Valentine's Day updates like Spring Valley, other farm games are preparing for release. Such is the case with The Oregon Trail: Boom Town, the next title from Tilting Point studio. Boom Town invites you to create your town and expand it, with its own resources to make it thrive.
The game has just entered the pre-registration phase on Android, but it's already out on iOS. So, you'll soon be able to become a pioneer on the trail of 19th century Oregon and found your first city there.
For Valentine's Day, Supercell is making things a little crazy on Clash Royale. The Finnish studio is powering up its 44 Love and Magic season with the arrival of the Super Magic Archer card, which is said to be the most surprising super card to date.
This February cupid allows you to shoot arrows into the heart of your enemies and make them your allies. Kind of like a good old monk in Age of Empires. For Season 44, you also get a new Royal Pass, emotes, skins towers, and new special Valentine's Day content in our full review.
The famous doctor, not Dr. Mario, who had a short life on mobile, but Doctor Who, the one of time and space, offers himself an idle game on mobile entitled Doctor Who: Lost in Time. Go through the emblematic places of the many seasons, collect energy and save the universe with your jumps in the Tardis.
In Doctor Who: Lost in Time, your life is in danger as a conspiracy through the ages seeks to make you disappear, but you won't be working too hard to stop it either since it's still an idle game. If you are a fan of the franchise, go ahead and pre-register for this game which will be mostly a fan-service extension of the Doctors universe.
Already mentioned several times in our recaps, the title Vampire Survivors welcomes this week the most chaotic update in its history, according to the developers. There are 3 new achievements and 2 new relics to give a hard time to the hordes of the creatures of darkness.
Update 1.3 also brings a new game mode, Oops, All Bats! which will take the player to the land of bats. If, like me, you love roguelikes and bullet hell, now is the time to discover Vampire Survivors or reopen the game for a new experience.
Many of you have been waiting for it: HunterxHunter mobile opens pre-registration in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The action-RPG based on the hit anime was already released in China in December and is still opening up in other regions, but there is no guarantee that it will make it to Europe or America.
The formula of the gacha RPG is taken up again to make you live the key moments of the saga with its emblematic characters and its key places: Dole Port, Whale Island and Youkexin City among others. You will find the usual PvP and PvE systems in campaign, dungeon and arena with very complete animations to honor HunterxHunter.
Sensitive souls please, Endling-Extinction is Forever has just been released on mobile for 10 dollars. This terrifying title is not a horror game. Worse, it's about reality, a horrible thing that gives rise to the extinction of species like this noble fox.
The last fox family on the planet is led by a mother who must feed her fox cubs by exploring the Earth for small prey, protect them in shelters, and care for them constantly. IF you're not the fragile type, you may have a strong enough heart this Valentine's Day to take on this poetic adventure in Endling - Extinction is Forever on Android and iOS.
It's no scoop: the world is in trouble. So when you're an American video-on-demand or video game giant, you might as well make money on global warming and rising seas, right? Just kidding, but rising waters will be the theme of Netflix Games' Highwater in partnership with the Rogue Games studio for development.
By boat, navigate the flooded world, discover the history of the people on your way and maybe find a way to leave the devastated Earth. Between exploration and narration, dive into this amphibious future to fully live the Highwater experience. Well, you'll have to wait until the game is released for that!
This Valentine's Day, you may be too busy spending the day or evening with your significant other to wonder what mobile game to play. But for the solo gamers among you, you might as well enjoy the latest games before the rest of the plebs.
On February 14th, I advise you to try Tomb Raider: Reloaded if you like games at Archero or Tower of God: Great Journey which I introduced at the beginning of the recap. And if you prefer advanced strategy, you still have the new Marvel Snap season of Quantum Kingdom with the new Ghost map on February 14th !
