In this recap #236, we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases you won't want to miss.

Sit back and relax as we round up the week's mobile games news! On the programme: Subnautica Below Zero is announced for mobile, two Cookie Run games make the news, Sea of Remnants launches its alpha and we've got a whole heap more to share with you.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on stores:

  • Might & Magic: Fates is out on Play Store and App Store, Ubisoft's TCG with Web3. In addition to a layer of acute collectability, the game features tactical combat, theorycraft for your combos, artefacts, factions and card swapping.
  • Cosmic Royale is available on the App Store. This karting game involves no fewer than 24 players in crazy races with obstacle courses, jumps and boosts from hell.
  • Astro Defenders: Capt.Couch is available on Play Store and App Store. It offers a mix of Survivor-like, tower defence and shooter gameplay set against a colourful cartoon backdrop.
  • Naruto Ninja Cards is out on Play Store and App Store. Collect cards of your favourite ninjas, build your ideal squad and try to reach your opponent's base in PvP in under 3 minutes.

We continue with Civilization VII, which has just been released on Apple Arcade. Backpack Battle is also available on Play Store and App Store for $10. Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil, a dungeon crawler with excellent replayability, is available for $20 on Play Store and App Store.

Last but not least, Botany Manor is the Epic Games free game of the week.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and testing phases

Here's a selection of the pre-registrations and beta releases that made their mark this week on Android and iOS.

  • Subnautica Below Zero has been announced on Play Store and App Store. It's the same game, with more content out of the water, more varied vehicles, new creatures and the fact that you might end up stuck under the ice.
  • Cookie Run Project CC and Cookie Run Project N have just been announced. Project N is an open-world adventure based on Genshin Impact. Project CC is an RPG arriving in mid-2026 that will be a slightly more classic game, similar to other games in the licence.
  • PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid's Curse announced on Play Store, App Store, PC and Switch for 19 February 2026. This new mystery adventure takes place in Ise-Shima, Japan, where mermaid legends come to life.
  • Sea of Remnants is in alpha. This free-to-play RPG on the theme of piracy and sea travel features more than a dozen playable characters, a knockout DA, tactical combat and gripping exploration phases.

Then there's The Legend of Skyria, the idle MMORPG that's opening its pre-registration on Play Store in SEO. The FMV Heart of the Forest will be released on Play Store and App Store on 12 February. SMiniz, SM Entertainment's idol match-3, is opening pre-registration on Android and iOS. The same goes for Star Sailors, for which pre-registration is also available on Play Store and App Store.

Nova Drift, the space exploration game, will be released on 10 March on Play Store and App Store. Meanwhile, Gintama Smartphone Battle Chonicle, the RPG based on the manga, is coming to Japan. Nowhere Prophet, the tactical card game, is coming to the App Store on 4 March. And finally, Easy Delivery Co. has a release date of 26 March on Play Store and App Store.
