Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Ora Overdrive has been released in Japan on Play Store. Collect your characters, create your roster of figures and alternate between manual and automatic mode for your tactical battles in free-to-play.
  • Pine Hearts is available on Play Store and App Store. In-game, you play Tyke as he sets out to conquer a mountain he had hoped to climb with his recently deceased father.
  • Torerowa is out on Play Store and App Store: this roguelike role-playing game invites you to form teams of three to explore dungeons.
  • Runes of Legend is available on Play Store. Click through all the menus, optimise your build, face tests of power and grind out this ex-browser game in dynamic combat.

Then there's Soul Park, the simulation game that's just been released on Play Store. Sunday City, another life simulation, is also available on Play Store and App Store.

And finally, the Epic Games Store game of the week is Eastern Exorcist.

Pre-registrations, announcements, updates and testing phases

Here's a selection of the pre-registrations and beta releases that made their mark this week on Android and iOS.

  • Monster Hunter Outlanders is in closed beta on Play Store and App Store. You have until 7 November to enter your details on the site with an email and join the Hunter waiting list.
  • The Rising of the Shield Hero has been announced for PC and mobile. The game finds heroine Naofumi Iwatani in a parallel world battling inter-dimensional creatures.
  • Petit Planet, the next cosy RPG from Hoyoverse, is now open for registration for its closed beta on Play Store and App Store. Make friends, customise your outfits, create your own relaxed little farm and explore each other's worlds.
  • Wai Wai World Craft has been announced by Konami for PC, Android and iOS. It lets you use a World Editor to create instances with your own environments and your own rules, using characters from official Konami licences.

We continue with m00m world, the cyberpunk MMO due for release on Play Store and App Store on 9 October. Nintendo has also announced Fire Emblem Shadows. Another announcement concerns Girls Band Cry: First Riff, an upcoming gacha narrative RPG. Deep Rock Galactic Survivor is to be released on mobile and is now open for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store.

Meanwhile, strategy game Jurassic War Survival is in soft launch on Play Store. Brave Frontier Versus, the card game in JRPG mode, is now open for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store. Nova Front is in soft launch in the Philippines on Play Store.

Then there's Hitman Absolution, due for release on 16 October on Play Store and App Store. And finally, Apple Arcade will be welcoming NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, Thomas & Friends™: Let's Roll+, Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+, and Piffle+ in October.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

The mobile JV industry has more news in store for you this week :

  • Secret Lab has released One Piece chairs! Meet Monkey D. Luffy and the iconic colours of his crew on a brand new wave of merchandise.
  • Kojima Productions and Niantic Spatial have teamed up to use Niantic's geospatial AI to mark the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions. It's still pretty mysterious, although we can see the idea of city-scale adventures with augmented reality.
