In recap #210, we take a look at the week's must-have mobile games releases, mobile news and pre-registrations/test phases not to be missed.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with a number of games now available on stores:

  • Kingdomino is out on Play Store and App Store, where you can play 15-minute games in which you develop your kingdom tile by tile, using a well-honed system of placing dominoes to make your scoring gauge soar.
  • Atuel, a mix of video game and documentary, takes you on a journey through pastel-coloured settings, with expert testimonials and information on the impact of climate change in the region. It takes 30 minutes to complete the adventure.
  • Umamusume: Pretty Derby lets you take on the role of a trainer of horsewomen inspired by famous Japanese racehorses, on Play Store and App Store. Your horsewomen will become idols, provided you manage them correctly.
  • Persona 5: The Phantom X has just been released on Play Store and App Store. Play as a Phantom Thieves group leader as you explore Tokyo in a mobile version of the popular RPG. Alternate between student life by day and supernatural adventures by night with your Personas.

In Go Go Wolf, the farming-based roguelite idle, take on the role of a werewolf woman who takes out mobs at lightning speed on Play Store and App Store.

Then there's True Fear Forsaken Souls 3, the exploration game which hits Play Store and App Store this week for $4.50. Broken Sword Reforged lands in a remastered version on Play Store and App Store. Follow George and Nico as they investigate the explosion of a bomb in a Parisian café, which will lead them into ancient conspiracies.

We end this section with Figment, the free game from Epic Game Store until 10 July.

Pre-registration, announcements, updates and testing phases

  • Destiny Rising finally has a release date on Play Store and App Store, and it's set for 28 August. Destiny Rising takes place in an alternate timeline to Destiny 1 and 2. You'll be able to explore the post-Black Age era, before the emergence of the Guardians and the Tower.
  • Resident Evil: Survival Unit will appear on the game's official YouTube channel on 10 July. It will feature a strategy game on Play Store and App Store, set in the same horrific survival universe as the rest of the licence and with real-time gameplay.
  • Raising Reincarnated SwordMage will be available on Play Store and App Store from 10 July. In this idle RPG packed with menus, fight hand-to-hand with your blades and at a distance with magic in the PvE campaign, 5 dungeons and PvP arenas.
  • Battlemons enters early access on Play Store. Capture and grow your baby battlemons to their maximum stage to develop their combat synergies.

We continue this section with Seal of Fate , which is launching its closed beta on Play Store and App Store. This 3D RPG with anime graphics is aiming for an autumn release. Meanwhile, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Ora Ora Overdrive has just announced its autumn release in Japan on Play Store and App Store.

Kingdom Rush Battles, which focuses on PvP tower defence, has just entered soft launch in the Philippines, Indonesia and Uruguay on Play Store and App Store. Waltz of the Wizard, the puzzle game, has already proved its worth on MetaQuest, Steam and PlayStation since 2019. But next autumn, it will be testing its success on the App Store.

Streel Patrol Command will turn you into a policeman, Jack Harper, tasked with routine traffic control, Papers Please-style, this September on the App Store. Meanwhile, YuYu Hakusho: Slugfest brings this Japanese anime to mobile. The game has just opened for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store, and its release date is not yet known.

As for Cygram, the one-minute racing game, it is now open for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

The mobile JV industry has more news in store for you this week:

  • Chaos Zero Nightmare is set to go on pre-registration in mid-July, and will even go through the full showcase stage on 9 July. You'll be able to find out even more about this RPG from Super Creative and Smilegate.
