Sit back and relax as we bring you the week's mobile games news! On the agenda: the release of Jump King on Android and iOS, pre-registrations for Marvel Mystic Mayem, the closure of Warzone Mobile and much more.

Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • Jump King is available now on the Play Store and App Store. In this pixel-art platform game, you have to climb towards the princess while mastering your precision jumps. It's hard, it's punishing, but you'll keep coming back for more.
  • Dunk City Dynasty makes its debut on Play Store and App Store in a colourful, sporting atmosphere. Build a team of basketball stars, improve your players in training and climb the rankings in this competitive simulator.
  • Mutant Genesis is finally officially out after two years of early access. This tactical card game offers PvP, PvE, a single-player campaign and co-op bosses. With over 200 maps and 8 ranks to climb, it's aimed at fans of strategic challenges on Play Store and App Store.
  • Pup Champs puts you in the boots of football puppies for cute, tactical puzzles. The game offers 30 free levels, and a one-off purchase of $5 unlocks the full adventure on Play Store and App Store.

And finally, Gigapocalypse, the free game of the week on the Epic Games Store.

Pre-registration, announcements, updates and test phases

  • Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game unveils an explosive new trailer featuring brand new environments on the planet Krypt. The game promises intense cooperative action in an overhead view. The beta has just finished, but no release date has yet been announced.
  • Destiny Rising launches pre-registration on the App Store. This RPG shooter from NetEase is set in the Destiny universe, before the arrival of the Guardians. The game will feature single-player, co-op and modes exclusive to the mobile version, with a narrative campaign and familiar faces such as Ikora Rey.
  • Marvel Mystic Mayhem is now open for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store ahead of its scheduled release on 25 June. This tactical RPG invites you to put together a team of three heroes like Scarlet Witch or Captain America to take on Nightmare in his nightmarish dimension.
  • Supremacy Warhammer 40,000 is available for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store, with epic multiplayer battles for 30 to 64 players over several weeks. The title promises management, diplomacy and a war of attrition in the merciless world of Warhammer.

Then there's Meteorfall: Rustbowl Rumble, the tactical card game, which opens its pre-orders at €8 and is due for release in June on Play Store and App Store. Meanwhile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Lite, the lighter version of the game, is in soft launch on Play Store in certain regions of Africa.

King of Crabs, the PvP RTS, is back with a new version for pre-registration on Play Store and App Store. Game of Thrones: Dragonfire enters soft launch on Play Store with a very promising trailer... but a chilling PvE/PvP RTS gameplay.

Then there's Trinity Trigger, the adaptation of the 2022 action RPG, which hits the App Store on 30 May for €23. Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town joins the Crunchyroll catalogue with a feel-good adventure set in rural Japan. As for Tencent's Crossfire: Legends , it is relaunching its alpha in the Philippines at the beginning of June after a first global attempt in 2018 and a closure.

Mattel Match Toybox Unlocked, the match-3 with the famous toy licences, was officially announced with minimalist teasing. Supervive, the top-down hero shooter combining MOBA and BR, is preparing its beta in China in June. Another game, Strinova, is also recruiting for its technical test in South-East Asia. TERBIS, the colourful 2D RPG with collectible characters, will be undergoing testing in Japan in June.

We end this section with Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World , which will be launching its Android technical test in China on 23 May. Meanwhile, Neverness to Everness has received administrative approval for release in China later this year.

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

The mobile JV industry has more news in store for you this week:

  • Warzone Mobile will close its servers a year after its release. The competition with Blood Strike was tough, and Activision's title was never convincing on mobile. Unspent points will be transferable to Call of Duty Mobile until 15 August.
  • Clash Royale is preparing its animated series on Netflix, while Sky: Children of the Light is launching the first part of its short film Two Embers, directly accessible in-game. Between humour and poetry, the studios are exploring new narrative formats.
  • Embracer is planning 76 games for next year, according to their latest announcement. Given their history of restructuring, massive takeovers and repeated redundancies, it's hard to take their word for it.

See you next week for a recap of mobile games news!
