Mobile games releases of the week

This week has been rich in release announcements, with many games now available on the stores:

  • Ragnarok X: Next Generation is officially launching its worldwide version on Play Store and App Store (although the game remains inaccessible on the French Play Store for the time being). This 3D MMORPG from Gravity follows on from its success in South-East Asia, and is now being extended to other regions of the world.
  • 9th Dawn is back with an enhanced remake. This new version features a reworked story, better combat, more than forty dungeons, mini-games and multiplayer, available for less than $10 on Play Store and App Store.
  • Astronaut Joe: Magnetic Rush is available on Play Store and App Store. This space action game lets you control an astronaut using magnetic powers to complete levels as quickly as possible.
  • Way of the Hunter: Wild America is now available on Play Store and App Store. This hunting simulator plunges you into the Nez Perce Valley to hunt down different species in a realistic atmosphere, using rifles and compound bows.

Apex Girls is available free on Play Store and App Store. Play as a squad of female mecha in a post-apocalyptic world, with AFK gameplay combining combat, gacha and mini-games. Rounding off the releases is Witchy Workshop, available on Play Store. This idle game transforms you into a witch at the head of a magical workshop, where you make enchanted objects.

Pre-registration, announcements, updates and test phases

Other news and events from the mobile games industry

There's more from the mobile JV industry this week:

  • Honkai could soon be home to a new game called Honkai: Nexus Anima, if recent trademark filings and hints from the Honkai Star Rail concert are anything to go by. A job advert also mentions an indie game with connected spirits, which has the gacha community highly intrigued.
  • NetEase Games will be holding its 520 Online Conference on 20 May. The event will highlight titles such as Where Winds Meet, Once Human, Identity V and Spirit Beast Adventure, with potentially more surprises to be discovered on their Weibo account.
