As you probably know, not all Pokémon TCG Pocket cards are created equal. Some are much rarer than others, and therefore much more coveted by players. Here, we take a look at the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards and what your chances are of getting them in a pack.
There are a total of 7 of the rarest cards in PTCGP. Here we explain how likely they are to be obtained, in which booster you can find them, and under what conditions you can obtain them.
1 - Charizard-EX GOLD
This is THE most sought-after card for Pokémon TCG Pocket players. It's the famous Charizard-EX Crown, also known as Charizard-EX Gold.
And you're going to have to get up early to get it, as its percentage chance of obtaining it (or drop rate) is just 0.013%, like all crown-type cards. The good news is that it can be found in any Genetic Power Edition pack. To get it, you can also use the Pokémon TCG Pocket wonder pick!
2 - Pïkachu ex GOLD
One of the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards is Pikachu ex, also in the Crown/Gold version.
Like Charizard-EX gold, this card has a drop rate of 0.013% and can be found in any booster. If you want to craft this Pikachu, you'll need 2,500 booster points.
3 - Mewtwo ex GOLD
This is the third rarest card in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Mewtwo ex crown also has a drop rate of 0.013%.
Like all the other gold cards, it can be found in a rare booster and in a god pack. In this case, the respective drop rates are 0.053% and 5%.
4 - Charizard-EX Full Art Immersive
With its immersive visuals, this three-star Charizard-EX Full Art is my personal favourite card!
If you fancy it, then you'll need to target the Firecracker Genetic Power boosters. Its obtain rate in a classic pack is 0.222%. A little tip: to see his animation again, go to your card collection, select it and hold your finger on the card!
5 - Pikachu ex Full Art immersive
The three-star immersive version of Pikachu ex full art is really cute, as well as being one of thePokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards!
You'll find it exclusively in Pikachu boosters, with a drop rate of 0.222%. Like the other immersive cards, you'll need to spend 1,500 booster points to be able to craft it.
6 - Mewtwo ex Full Art immersive
You've guessed it: this three-star Mewtwo ex, one of the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards, can only be found in boosters featuring it and has a 0.222% obtain rate.
For an extra chance of getting it, don't forget to add your friends to Pokémon TCG Pocket! That way, you'll be able to access their wonder picks and maybe get that Mewtwo ex.
7 - Mew 3 stars
Did you know that there's a full-art version of Mew's secret card? It's not even numbered, and to get it, you're going to have to be patient.
This Mew full art, one of the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards, can only be obtained once you've completed your entire Kanto Pokédex. In other words, you must have collected all 151 cards from the first generation of Pokémon (regardless of version).
Other Pokémon TCG Pocket cards with a low drop rate
Much less rare than the gold and three-star full art cards, Pokémon TCG Pocket also features two-star cards with a fairly low drop rate.
These are ex full art cards , each with a drop rate of 0.05% in a standard booster. The three-star full art cards include trainer cards.
The god pack for the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards
If you've been playing Pokémon TCG Pocket since its release, you'll no doubt have heard of the famous "god pack". This is a booster pack containing only rare cards. It includes gold cards, three-star cards and two-star full art cards. In the god pack, forget about common or uncommon cards. There's no chance of catching your 40th Sablaireau in this kind of booster!
Unlike the bent packs, the god pack is not a rumour but a reality, and allows you to obtain the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards. Unfortunately, the drop rate of such a booster is 0.05%, and statistically, it unlocks every 2,000 open boosters...
I hope you're lucky enough to get the Pokémon TCG Pocket rarest cards! Don't forget to check out our other tips and tricks on PTCGP for even more guides!
