Nostoi Region: Guide to the Genshin Impact subregion

Genshin Impact Nostoi Region

In Genshin Impact Nostoi Region, you can find two sub-areas, the Petrichor and the Faded Castle. In ancient languages, 'Petrichor' means 'Golem', which explains the presence of several golem-like enemies. Upon reaching Petrichor, you'll find a small town believed to be the hometown of the researcher and filmmaker Xavier. After following Osse in the deep spring, you'll find yourself inside the Faded Castle.

How to Unlock the Nostoi Region

Genshin Impact Nostoi Region can be accessed only after finishing the "Song of the Dragon And Freedom" from the Archon quest series. If you've already finished the quest, a teleport waypoint within the Petrichor region will appear, that you can use to bring yourself to that place. Interacting with the Statue of the Sevens will unlock and reveal the entire Petrichor Island. However, reaching its second sub-area, the Faded Castle requires you to initiate and progress with the Shadow Over Petrichor quest line. 

The Nostoi Genshin Impact Region map

The Nostoi Region fills the awkward gap in the middle of the rainforest and desert area of Sumeru, Chenyu Vale, and Fontaine. Compared to the other sub-region, Sea of Bygone Eras though, the Nostoi Region falls short when it comes to size as it only consists of two sub-zones, the Petrichor and the Faded Castle. 

Inside the Petrichor Island, you can find the Faded Theater domain where you can farm for Arlecchino's best-in-slot artifact, Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy and Unfinished Reverie. Heading to the other area, you will discover a powerful boss that is shaped as a centaur, the Statue of Marble and Brass. 

Hydroculus Locations in Genshin Impact Nostoi Region

Inside the sub-areas, The Petrichor and Faded Castle, there are 3 and 6 Hydroculus, respectively. Head to these places and collect these locations to acquire them. 

New Boss in Genshin Nostoi Region

To face the new World Boss in Genshin Impact, enter the Faded Castle. The boss, known as Legatus Golem or the Statue of Marble and Brass, is a centaur-shaped construct made of marble and brass, as its name implies. At the start of the fight, the boss is protected by a Geo shield, and its sword is imbued with the same element. To break the shield, use a Geo character or a character who can deliver blunt attacks, like those wielding Claymores. Additionally, destroying the small totems it summons during the fight can be quite helpful.

Defeat the boss to acquire character ascension materials which include the Fragment of a Golden Melody.
