When you play games like Clash of Clans, your data is saved on the device's internal storage. Unfortunately, this situation forces you to restart your game from the beginning when you change your mobile or tablet. Today, I'm offering several workarounds to get around this problem to easily recover your Clash of Clans account and all your game history. 🏰 📲
To retrieve a Clash of Clans account, first of all, you will need to download and install the application on your device. As soon as you launch the game, click on the gear in the northwest corner of your screen. You will be presented with a settings window with options to recover your account.
What happens next will depend on your situation and the terminal you intend to use to play.
Step 2: Recover your Clash of Clans account
To get your Clash of Clans village back, there are two situations.
Situation 1: Clash of Clans account saved
In my 13 Clash of Clans tips for getting started, I advised you tolink your Clash of Clans account to Play Games and/or SUPERCELL. If you have done so, you can restore your progress thanks to the solutions I propose here.
Recovering your game on Android with Google Play Games
On the settings window that Clash of Clans shows you at the end of step 1, click on the Google Play option. The game will then ask you to select an account to collect your village.
If the email address associated with your game is already present on your smartphone, the game will automatically detect your progress. If it is not the right address, add the corresponding Google account from your mobile's settings. I remind you that you need to have Google Play Games installed on your mobile to use this tip. If you don't have it yet, download it from the Play Store.
Find your village on iOS with Game Center
Game Center is the equivalent of Google Play Games, but on iOS. When you start Clash of Clans, connect your Game Center ID to automatically restore your village's progress. If the Apple ID on your phone is not the one you have associated with your Clash of Clans account, you will need to add it from the settings. Then open the iOS settings app and click on Game Center. Then choose Use another Apple ID for the Game Center. Now log in to the ID you had registered your CoC account with. Restart the game and select the correct account. You should now be able to restore your game.
Restore your Clash of Clans progress with a SUPERCELL ID
In the list of settings that appears in step 1, choose the SUPERCELL ID option to retrieve your Clash of Clans village.
In the new window that appears, click on Continue.
The game will then ask you to enter the email address you have associated with your SUPERCELL ID account. Also, I recommend that you check the "Remember me on this device" box to avoid having to log in each time.
In the new window that appears, fill in the boxes with the SUPERCELLsecurity code that you received by e-mail. Validate and confirm to resume your game where you left off.
Situation 2: Lost Clash of Clans account
If you haven't saved your game, don't remember the account associated with your Clash of Clans village, or even if you've inadvertently deleted it, here's what to do. We'll contact the game's help and support centre. We'll explain that we've lost our account and would like to get it back. Then, in the application settings we saw in step 1, click on the help and support option.
In the suggestion window that appears, touch Account, then touch Retrieve account.
Then click on I've lost my account!
Scroll down and click on Contact Us, located under the Still need help?banner.
On the new menu that appears, click on "contact us".
You will be redirected to the SUPERCELL mailbox where you will have to explain your problem. Before continuing, I recommend that you get a notebook and find an email address that is never associated with a Clash of Clans account. If you don't have one, just create a new one.
What message should I send to recover a lost Clash of Clans account?
When you contact SUPERCELL to ask for the recovery of a lost Clash of Clans account, you will have to prove your paternity. To do this, you will need some information:
the level of the village hall to be restored;
thelogin and nickname of your lost account;
the name of the clan in which your village is located;
the approximate date and place of your last game;
the date (month/year) and place (city and country) of creation of your lost account;
how you lost it;
the last magic item you used;
the number of devices you were playing on;
your old name, if you have already changed your name;
the last building you upgraded.
If you have made previous purchases, you will also need to include a full copy of the iTunes/Play Store receipt for your first purchase with your response.
If the answers match the information SUPERCELL has, you will get your game back. I admit that it is not easy to remember all this information, especially if you stopped playing a long time ago. Try to give answers that are close to the real information.
Also, I remind you that the message you send will be handled by a human. So please remember to be courteous and friendly. Responses may take one to two days. Whatever happens, your request will be considered. So be patient and don't harass the support.
What happens when a fraudulent recovery is attempted?
So one day I came across a video that showed how to use this trick to get another player's Clash of Clans account. I had an HDV 8 and was very excited about owning a big village.
For the first time in a game, I put my ethics aside and tried to recover an abandoned Clash of Clans account. I thought I was smarter, but I failed the test that would allow me to prove my authorship on the account. The next day when I logged into the game, I got a message on my screen saying that I had been banned from Clash of Clans for not following the game's rules and that I risked more if I did it again.
Fortunately for me, the penalty only lasted 15 days - although it seemed like an eternity. SUPERCELL does not say anything more about the penalties for using fraudulent methods. However, depending on the severity of the act, I believe a player risks a lifetime ban from the game and fines. Your game is supposed to be pure fun. So resist the temptation to go over to the dark side of the force.
This is the end of our guide on how to recover your Clash of Clans account. I hope it's helped you out. And don't forget that you risk losing your boss title if you abuse it. If you still have any grey areas or opinions to share, feel free to share them with us in the comments 😉.
