The Witcher mobile game, announced for this summer, is finally released on Android and iOS. After a year of waiting, fans of the Witcher universe can finally go on a free-to-play Augmented Reality monster hunt. Let's find out together the first feedback about the new AR game The Witcher: Monster Slayer on mobile. 🐺
We already knew the mobile card game GWENT, inspired by The Witcher saga. Today, it is the turn of the new opus to surf on the adventures of Geralt and Yennefer, The Witcher: Monster Slayer. The release date of the title was announced very recently by CD RED PROJEKT for this Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Moreover, pre-registration was still open until then, counting thousands of impatient players! Based on the same mechanics as Pokémon GO or Ingress, with geolocation, the game proposes to hunt monsters by moving IRL.
After three months of early access and a few hours of testing, fans are already speaking out on the subject. They have pointed out that you can play as your own Witcher, wander around and hunt various monsters that come your way. You have access to a main quest with its own story, rooted in The Witcher world. Although the game offers in-game purchases such as equipment, The Witcher mobile remains free, just like its cousin Pokémon GO. 😎
As a result, you will come across all sorts of creatures such as werewolves, dwarves, spectres and ghouls. Note that some of them only appear under certain weather conditions or if it is day or night. A very lively, realistic game that will make you real monster hunters! For the moment, the game is accumulating positive reviews. Some players even want to join a dedicated server on Discord to collaborate with other members of the community (yes, there is a server for that):
So all that's left is for you to try out The Witcher on mobile and give us your own opinions. Maybe we'll come back and give you some gameplay tips and info as well. Be well, travellers, and enjoy the game 😉
