Tencent has announced the arrival of its next open-world survival game, Light of Motiram, on PC, PS5, Android and iOS. Since then, the gaming world has been abuzz. And when you watch the trailer and gameplay video for Light of Motiram, it's easy to see why Tencent's announcement caused such a stir. If the Chinese giant's next game rings a bell, that's understandable: Light of Motiram's DA is very, very strongly inspired by the Horizon series...
Is Tencent trying to follow the same path as Pocket Pair with its Palworld game, and get sued by Sony for plagiarism of the Horizon games? It begs the question! If, like me, you've played and loved the Horizon games, then the trailer for Light of Motiram has certainly titillated you.

While the gameplay of Tencent's game has nothing in common with those of Guerrilla Games, published by Sony, the AD and chara-design are strangely similar. I'll let you judge for yourself!

You can clearly see the mechanical monsters that made Horizon so special, as well as Aloy, the licence's heroine, and the environments. Not to mention the character's mount , which is unmistakably a copy of the Horizon mounts.

As I said earlier, Light of Motiram's gameplay has absolutely nothing in common with the Horizon games. Apart from the open world, Tencent's game will at least stand out for its survival and crafting aspects, as we can see in the 16 minutes of gameplay that were broadcast today.

The programme includes building a base and managing resources, combat and co-op. Tencent has announced that it will be possible to form a team of 10 players to explore the world of Light of Motiram, hunt mechanical monsters and collect resources.
No release date has yet been announced, but recruitment for mobile beta tests will take place soon.
