Spotlight hours are a weekly fixture on Pokémon GO. Every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm local time, one or more Pokémon will invade your roads and neighbourhoods. And that's not all, as a special bonus is applied during these 60 minutes. We'll tell you more as we take a look at the schedule and content of the Pokemon GO Spotlight hours in April 2024.

Don't forget that the Spotlight hours run from 6pm to 7pm local time. Note that all these Pokémon are available in their Shiny form. Even if the Shiny rate isn't boosted, this will be offset by the number of spawns that appear during the Spotlight hour, giving you a good chance of getting a Shiny Pokémon.
To make sure you don't waste a minute, here are our preparation tips:
To do this, make sure you're a little ahead of the game and get there a little earlier than 30 minutes in advance.
Next week's Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours in April 2024 will focus on insects! Weedle already had a Community Day in 2020, but Caterpie and Wurmple still haven't had one. So here's your chance to get a shiny Caterpie and a shiny Wurmple!
The bonus will be: x2 Stardust when you capture a Pokémon. As a result, you can use a Star Piece to get a 50% Star Dust bonus for 30 minutes, giving you a total bonus of x3 for half the Spotlight hour.
If you get the chance, we encourage you to Mega Evolve an Insect Pokémon: Beedrill, Scizor, or Heracross, which will be available in Mega Raids for the first time on 13 April. Note that this also works if you have Primal Kyogre, which also boosts Insect Pokémon. This will give you a bonus in XP and Candy when you capture a Caterpie, Weedle or Wurmple.
Finally, don't forget to make some nice throws (or super throws or excellent throws). As part of Bug Out, which runs from Friday 12 April at 10.00 a.m. to 17 April at 8.00 p.m., you'll earn extra XP, Candies and Candy XL if you're successful with your throws.
The Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours in April 2024 continue with Trubbish, the cute little Pokémon shaped like a bin bag. This is its first Spotlight hour, and it comes with a very interesting bonus: x2 XP when catching Pokémon.
Feel free to use a Lucky Egg to double the XP gained for 30 minutes. If you have the opportunity to spend Great Friend, Ultra Friend or Best Friend time with one of the friends on your contact list during the Spotlight hour, you'll earn even more XP!
The recommended Mega Evolves for the Trubbish Spotlight hour on 23 April 2024 are Venusaur, Beedrill and Gengar, for a bonus of Candy and XP for every Trubbish captured. Don't forget to also look out for the 2024 Sustainability Week bonuses, which will be cumulative with the Trubbish Spotlight hour bonuses.
Finally, the Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours in April 2024 will end with a rerun of the Clefairy Spotlight Hour. This is because the Pokémon Fairy was given a Spotlight hour in 2020. For this Spotlight hour, the bonus in force will be: x2 Candies when catching Pokémon. This means that Pinap Berries will be your best friends, giving you a cumulative bonus of x4 Candies for catching each Clefairy.
Our recommended Mega Evolves for the Spotlight hour on 30 April 2024 are: Gardevoir, Altaria and Diancie, for more XP and sweets for each Clefairy captured.
Now that you know all about the upcoming Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours in April 2024, it's time to get ready to make the most of each of these slots. If you're lucky, you might even come across a Shiny Pokémon or two to add to your collection!
