Our favourite mobile games of the month

This month we've fallen for two great new releases. Make room on your storage space because these mobile games are going to be hard to resist.

Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Méliodas and his pals are back in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, the mobile adaptation of an anime that needs no introduction. The Deadly Sins arrive with an open-world of Britannia like you've never seen before, on PC, consoles and phones, even if there is some optimisation to be reviewed.

Seven Deadly Sins Origin is a Genshin-like game with :

  • RPG exploration
  • Maximum loot collection
  • Quests in all directions
  • Character switching for battles that are as aesthetic as they are strategic
  • Lots of co-op content, including boss raids and exploration galore

All for free!

⚡To go further : we've got some tips and tricks for 7DS: Origin, so don't hesitate to take a look!

Ball x Pit

In terms of AD, Ball x Pit is a dark and effective little bomb. The game relies on a shower of bullet hell-style VFX, with stats all over the place and boss patterns to dodge in an interactive brick-breaker. You move around and shoot balls with unique powers. The Doodle God twist is that you can merge these balls to create new effects, varied builds and devastating synergies.

Ball x Pit is a clever mix of survivor, roguelite, basic construction and brick-breaking. On the programme:

  • Facing hordes of enemies, you'll have to use your balls, upgrade them and merge them.
  • In the off-times, you can build your base and farm resources and bonuses.
  • Unlock several characters with specific abilities, test the limits of the game... and always try harder.

Ball x Pit is available as a free trial, with the full game priced at $10.

April's must-try mobile games

With dozens of releases a day on the various game shops, it's hard to keep track. So we've gone through it all for you, and here are the best releases of the past month to try out over the next 30 days:

  • The Division Resurgence: a real MMO RPG shooter with an open world, playable solo or in full multiplayer, but also an independent campaign with dangerous factions.
  • Subnautica Below Zero: the sequel to Subnautica has arrived. Manage your hunger, thirst, oxygen and temperature in a world that takes you deeper and deeper beneath the surface.
  • Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy: go 3v3 with the heroes of the franchise to beat the crap out of each other. Each character has their own abilities and equipment, wrapped up in a new story arc. And as a bonus, there's a whole host of collectible outfits.
  • Coffee Talk: a visual novel with a deliciously retro colour palette, the first episode of which has just been released on the stores. You're a professional barista, as good at serving coffee as you are at collecting the secrets of fantastic creatures, in a fantasy Seattle.
  • Cookie Run: Ovensmash: in this new brawler/MOBA from Devsisters, the Cookies are divided into 3 factions, with unique skills and different classes. The game is available for free and has a huge player base.
  • Easy Delivery Co. is a delivery simulator in which you climb aboard your truck, uncover strange secrets, master your new environment and immerse yourself in the experience. The game is available for $13 on the stores.
  • Hatch Dragons: hatch eggs to discover different dragon species linked to the elements of nature. Then the real work begins, as you have to look after them. It's a free tamagoshi, available on Android and iOS.
  • Wednesdays: the game deals with the serious subject of child abuse, allowing Tim to come to terms with what happened to him by revisiting his memories. Get ready for a strange but sweet journey, on Android and iOS.
  • Oceanhorn 3: conquer your island by boat, glider and on foot in a rich universe. You'll also enjoy platforming, quests, story and combat in around 20 hours of gameplay. The game is available on Apple Arcade.
  • Heaven Hells: discover a 3D anime-style gacha in which you battle creatures called Hellions with a squad of four Witches whose build and synergies you have to manage. The game is available free on Play Store and App Store.
  • Becoming Saint: this strategic roguelike makes you a man of faith in 14th-century Italy, with city-states your followers, up to 16 strong, help you dominate tactical battles in real time.
  • The return of Fortnite: the spat between Epic Game and Google is over, and Fornite is back on the Play Store!
