Check out the weekly round-up of mobile gaming news on Android and iOS for the week of February 21 to 27, 2022! We'll let you read it all below. ⬇️
1️⃣ Let's start this recap with the releases that stood out this week. First, EDENS ZERO Pocket Galaxy was released this Thursday. The mobile game is based on the eponymous universe imagined by Hiro Mashima, notably mangaka of Fairy Tail. Developed by Konami, this RPG didn't have an excellent first few days: reviews complain about crashes, uninteresting gameplay and long loading times due to stage downloads (and I understand after testing My Hero Ultra Impact this week). It remains to be seen if the game will be able to gather a community other than the original fans.
Other releases include a merge game from Com2Us called Valkyrie Rush. Available for pre-registration for several months, the game seems to be a skin merge game with an auto-omnipresent mode and an obvious lack of depth. Many players have expressed their disappointment with a Com2Us game, but this does not surprise us given the turn the company has taken with its commercial productions far from the Summoners War universe, not all of which are successful. Finally, the release of The Secret of Cat Island will delight fans of soothing, cute and colourful games. To be discovered as soon as possible for players used to titles with an Animal Crossing-like atmosphere.
2️⃣ The highly anticipated steampunk/fantasy crossover MMORPG, Noah's Heart, has announced its release before the end of 2022 in Japan. Unfortunately, we have no information about a potential worldwide release date for Noah's Heart.
3️⃣ In its two and a half years of existence, Call of Duty mobile has just reached $1.5 billion in earnings via its microtransactions. Obligatory thanks to players by TiMi Studios, which has seen a 45% increase in CoD mobile earnings between 2020 and 2021, up to the 14th position of mobile games generating the most money through in-game purchases iOS and Android. We're still waiting for news on CoD Warzone mobile 's release in 2022, but we'll keep you updated as the months go by.
4️⃣ For a change of pace, several mobile games have opened their pre-registrations this week. Dark Nemesis, the MMORPG from Nuverse is one of them. It incorporates PvE, boss battles and PvP with a Battle Royale mode as well as various character customisation options, in a world where Good and Evil are constantly clashing. Nothing very original, but maybe the game will bring some novelties to the genre, we'll find out soon enough for its release on March 25th 2022.
In addition, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will be released this summer, and has also opened pre-registration for the upcoming closed beta. Finally, the roguelike Gunfire Reborn is available for pre-order and pre-registration for the RPG and dungeon crawler Soul Tide has begun. As a reminder, Soul Tide won the award for best anime game of the year at the Vivo Annual Game Festival. You can see below the different trailers of the mentioned games.
5️⃣ On the soft launch side, the latest title from Kabam Games (who is responsible for Marvel Contest of Champions, Shop Titans or Transformers Forged to Fight), Shadows of Valdora, becomes available for players in Canada and the Philippines on Android, via the Playstore. If you are interested in the game, you can also join the Shadow of Valdora waiting list on its official website. Apex mobile Shadow of Valdora is also playing the soft launch card, with Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore starting next month. When released in these countries, the game will have 9 playable legends: Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Octane, Pathfinder and Wraith.
6️⃣ If Hyper Front isn't afraid to position itself as a Valorant-like, or even a clone of the hit game from Riot Games, T3 Arena would obviously be the mobile Overwatch some are still waiting for. Like the PC version of Blizzard's title, this title offers multiple game modes, colourful VFX and characters with a slightly cartoonish but charismatic style. Discover T3 Arena and its 3v3 battles from March by pre-registering on TapTap.
7️⃣ To celebrate the end of Infinity Kingdom's first year of existence, players had access to birthday rewards , a special event with limited edition kingdom decorations and even a souvenir offered by Yoozoo Games by logging in with your ID on the official event page.
8️⃣ Usually available for 99 cents, Hitman Sniper is going free on Android and iOS. Frequently listed as one of the best mobile sniping games, the title has made a name for itself as a classic. So now that it's free, why not give it a try?
9️⃣ After the leaks about the arrival of the Dendro element before the end of the year, it is now the turn of a new element Genshin Impact to be revealed. According to the latest leaks, players will have the opportunity to play Light-type characters in addition to the existing types. Find out more about this leak in our dedicated article.
🔟 After its last phase of test, Diablo Immortal was able to make some improvements. Among them, social features make their appearance as well as changes to the 8-player Raid mode and extended controller gameplay support through more compatibilities. We haven't had a chance to play it yet at Mobi.gg, but, like all our favorite titles, it's long overdue.
1️⃣1️⃣ Finally, to conclude this week's news roundup on beautiful images, I let you discover the trailer of Little Orpheus, a mobile and PC game developed by The Chinese Room, the creators ofAmnesia or Dear Esther. The release date of Little Orpheus is scheduled for March 1st on Appstore via Apple Arcade, so get ready!
