What are the reasons for the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened shutdown?

As you might expect, the reasons for Harry Potter: Magic Awakened shutdown are mainly financial. In the first three weeks after its release, the game recorded "only" 3.5 million downloads and 3.1 million dollars in revenue, half of which came from the United States.

Closure of Harry Potter: Magic Emerges

With a lack of activity in the regions concerned resulting in a lack of profitability for WB Games, the publisher has decided to shelve the game for good. However, the game will still be active in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, notably in China where it is published by NetEase. In fact, a fan petition calling on the Chinese publisher to take back the servers affected by the closure is already available online.

At Mobi.gg, we're frankly sad to hear of the demise of such a fine game. We'll be missing its pretty AD and really fun gameplay. If that's the case for you too, you still have a few weeks to enjoy HP: Magic Awakened.
