On Thursday, we told you about the arrival of a new opus Lineage entitled Lineage W on mobile. With the continuation of Aion 2, the mobile MMO signed by NCSoft seems to have good days ahead. Remember, Aion 2 was announced in 2018, and players have since lost a little patience. For all the fans of the first hour of this MMO, the news should however rejoice you. The game has been in production for several years. Despite its media discretion, it seems that it is slowly but surely getting closer to its release date.
It was only at the shareholder conference that the future of Aion 2 on mobile was revealed a little. Contrary to what some might think, it will be dedicated to its Android and iOS players and will be released without a PC version. In addition, in a break with the tradition of Korean games that offer a regional launch first before being offered to the rest of the world months or years later, Aion 2 will enjoy a global launch upon its release.
As its name suggests, Aion 2 is a sequel to Aion, a large open world game to explore with friends. Its story will take place a few years before the events of the first opus.
As a reminder, here is the trailer for Aion 2 when it was announced.
Moreover, NCSoft is a studio that knows its field. With titles such as Guild Wars 2, Blade and Soul and Aion, MMOs hold no secrets for them. What raises questions, however, is the amount of negative or average feedback on the Playstore for Lineage W, the latest mobile MMO title for NC. I'm waiting to see what the studio will come up with as a mobile strategy to achieve high profitability without compromising its gameplay experience.
No release date for Aion 2 is yet known. However, the shareholder conference seems to indicate a release window of2022.
