Age of Empires mobile release date is coming up on August 19

The Age of Empires mobile release date is approaching! TiMi Studios is preparing to release the game worldwide after sharing it with the Chinese community. We take a look at the gameplay of the mobile port of AoE, pre-registrations and the exact release date for Android and iOS.

The Age of Empires mobile release date is upon us

We finally have the exact release date for Age of Empires mobile. It's 19 August 2024, right in the middle of summer. The game will be published this year under the banner of Level Infinite, Tencent's international gaming label, well after its launch in China in March 2022.

In terms of gameplay, as you might expect, it's an MMORTS like Rise of Kingdoms, Call of Dragons or State of Survival. You build your base by following the introductory mission, develop your army and set off to conquer the shared map in huge multiplayer battles.

On top of that, you collect historical commanders, just like in RoK. Gacha is superimposed on controlling points of importance on the map to encourage you to join alliances and grind ever further. We already told you about this 2022 adaptation in a previous news item, as well as about the other AoE games for phones that have disappeared from the stores.

You'll be able to get your hands on Age of Empires mobile as soon as it's released on 19 August on all the usual platforms, but you know now that it won't have anything like the usual experience apart from the graphics, which resemble those of the fourth opus. Pre-weekend stream to detail AoE mobile announcements

On Friday 23 February, like 3,000 other people, I was patiently waiting for the official Age of Empires twitch stream to begin. It was a stream that was supposed to reveal details about Age of Empires mobile's release date and gameplay, plus some info about Age of Mythology Retold and additional content for AoE4 and AoE 2.

Honestly, it was disjointed as the stream caster chose not to be aware of any announcements or upstream talking points in order to have a natural reaction to the video trailers. The August 19 launch date for AoE on phones was confirmed, but the gameplay showcase was still very ambiguous and the developers put a lot of emphasis on the marketing aspects that gamers aren't interested in.

TiMi Studios is known for its work on Pokémon Unite and Call of Duty mobile, both of which have already achieved considerable longevity, so we can only hope that Age of Empires mobile will receive similar treatment. However, I doubt that the fanbase of the AoE licence will find itself in a classic mobile MMORTS, which will be no different from RoK.
