Swordsman, a solid melee pick in the Crystal of Atlan classes lineup

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to Crystal of Atlan classes, the Swordsman is the safest bet. He’s your classic melee fighter. Deals solid damage and has good durability. His attacks are fast and fluid, which makes him a fun pick if you’re into close-range combat. Definitely beginner-friendly if you're planning to stick with someone fun and simple to handle. That said, he’s not the most OP class. His damage is decent but not top-tier, and if you’re looking for AoE or crazy combos, there are better picks. Still, he holds his ground well and doesn’t die easily, which makes him a reliable teammate in group fights.

Swordsman Subclass

Once you hit level 15, the Swordsman can branch into two subclasses:

• Magiblade: Adds magic-based skills to your sword slashes. With elemental effects like fire and lightning, this subclass is great for those who want a more hybrid playstyle. Think anime magic swordsman.
• Berserker: Pure rage and raw damage. Berserker trades finesse for power and to make the most of it, we recommend the best Crystal of Atlan Berserker build. Both subclasses give you a strong foundation, so if you're into a melee style gameplay, sticking with Swordsman for some time can pay off well.

The Musketeer, the shooter of Crystal of Atlan

The Musketeer should be your pick if you prefer to fight from a distance and hit hard. She’s a classic ranged DPS with fast shots and solid burst potential. Great for both PvE farming and boss fights where staying alive means staying far away. Definitely a great pick if you like sniping enemies before they get close.

But keep in mind she’s not built for tanking. Her defense is pretty low so if enemies get too close, things go downhill fast. She’s also a bit harder to master for new players, especially those not used to dodging and kiting. Still, in the right hands, she can wipe out enemies before they even touch you.

Musketeer Subclass

Once you hit level 15, the Musketeer can branch into two subclasses:

• Gunner: Focuses on heavy artillery and area-of-effect damage. Makes it effective for crowd control and dealing with multiple enemies.
• Bounty Hunter: Specializes in high burst damage and mobility, which leads to better chance of single-target elimination and hit-and-run tactics.

Whether you want fast-paced burst or calculated AoE pressure, the Musketeer has both ends covered (as long as you’re quick on your feet)

The Magister, the AoE specialist

Now that we’ve seen the Swordsman and Musketeer, let’s move on to the mage of the Crystal of Atlan class lineup. The Magister is your typical spellcaster: tons of AoE damage with amazing skill effects, and a decent attack range that lets him handle mobs from a safe distance. He’s especially valuable in PvE and dungeons where you need to wipe out groups of enemies fast.

Even though he's one of our favorite Crystal of Atlan classes, he’s not easy to master. Like most mages in MMOs, he’s squishy. Poor defense and long cooldowns make him vulnerable if you don’t know how to keep your distance. If you’re new to the game, we’d honestly recommend starting with something simpler like Swordsman before diving into a gameplay with Magister.

Magister Subclass

At level 15, Magister can branch into three sub-classes:

• Elementalist: Focuses on elemental spells like flame and ice. Great for PvE with wide-range AoE attacks and status effects.
• Magician: Specializes in illusions and debuffs. More technical, but strong in PvP thanks to its crowd control abilities.

If you enjoy spellcasting then Magister is definitely one to consider. Just don’t expect a smooth ride if you’re playing solo for the first time. You'll learn as you practice.

The Puppeteer, a difficult class to master in Crystal of Atlan

The Puppeteer class is all about controlling the fight with skill and precision. You get to combine melee combat with tricky puppet mechanics that let you manipulate enemies and keep them off balance. This class suits players who like a mix of close-range action and clever battlefield control.

This class is not the easiest to pick up, but if you enjoy mastering timing and combos, Puppeteer overall offers a great experience.

Puppeteer Subclass

Once you reach level 15, Puppeteer branches into two subclasses of Crystal of Atlan classes:

• Blademaiden: Focuses on fast and agile swordplay. She deals burst damage with swift combos and can control enemies with precise strikes.
• Scytheguard: Trades speed for power, wielding a heavy scythe to hit multiple enemies at once. This subclass excels at crowd control and sustained damage in group fights.

Out of all Crystal of Atlan classes, Puppeteer class is the toughest to master. But it's also highly-rewarding in the long run. The core focus of this class is massive AoE damage with amazing skill combos.

The Fighter, a solid close-combat class

Do you want a straightforward melee fighter who gets the job done without fuss? We suggest you stick with the fighter class in the Crystal of Atlan classes lineup. This class is perfect for jumping right into the thick of battle and smashing through enemies like a boss. Plus, since this class is as easy as Swordsman, you can literally just spam your skills and still deal decent damage.

Fighter’s skills are easy to pick up. Therefore, it's a great choice for beginners or anyone who wants reliable damage and solid defense without overcomplicated mechanics.

Fighter Subclass

Just like the rest of the Crystal of Atlan classes, Fighter also evolves further into two subclasses:

• Starbreaker: Brings heavy-hitting attacks and strong burst damage to finish off enemies fast.
• Cloudstrider: Focuses more on speed and agility. Lets you dodge and weave while dishing out quick strikes.

Again, if you want a no-fuss class where you can just spam skills and still stay solid in fights, Fighter is where it’s at.
