Zither Virtuoso and Painter: The new monsters of SW

Come2us announced last week the release of two new monsters for their game Summoners War. Now they have been released in the v.5.3.6 update and they look pretty interesting.

Here is all the information we have so far about the two new monsters, Zither Virtuoso and Painter.

The different zither virtuosos

This is the new 4-star monster that has just been released and can be a good asset for GvO! You will find it in the five attributes present on the game:

Virtuoso on the zither (fire) - "Hongyeon".

Hongyeon is a native 4-star support . When not awake, she has three skills and when awake, she has four skills:

• Leader Ability : Increases the HP of allied monsters by 33% in all guild content.
• BlossomSong: Attacks the enemy and increases their chance to make a glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.
• Melody of Bitterness: Until the next turn, decreases the health of enemies by 5% and reduces the attack power of enemies by 50% for 1 turn. During this spell, the monster cannot counterattack and participate in a double attack.
• Millennium Air : Increases the attack gauge and attack power of all allies by 15% and their HP by 15%.

Virtuoso on the zither (water) - "Songseol

Songseol a medium with three skills when not awake and four when awake:

• Leader Ability: The accuracy of allied monsters is increased by 40% in all guild content.
• The most beautiful instrument: Gives itself an immunity effect for 1 turn and prevents enemies from receiving beneficial effects.
• Dissonance: Attacks all enemies three times to stun them for 1 turn with a 15% chance. If an enemy is already stunned or frozen, this skill reduces their attack gauge by 10%.
• Blossom Song : Attacks the enemy and increases their chance to make a glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.

Virtuoso on the zither (wind) - "Yeonhwa

As with the other attributes, Yeonhwa is a medium with these skills:

• Leader Ability: Resistance of allied monsters is increased by 40% in all guild content.
• Virtuoso Hand: Use your second skill (below) when you receive an attack from your enemies to reduce the damage done by 30%.
• Melody of Bitterness : Until your next turn, play a melody that reduces the health of your enemies by 5%. This skill reduces their power and attack speed with a 50% chance.
• Blossom Song: Attacks the enemy and increases their chance to perform a glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.

Zither Virtuoso (light) - "Dongbaek

This is one of the two rarest attributes to have, as you will need scrolls light and dark to have it. Dongbaek has the following skills:

• Leader skill : The defence of allied monsters is increased by 33% in all guild content.
• Zither Solo: Your monster's attack gauge decreases by 10% when an enemy gets their turn while you are playing your instrument. It increases by 20% when no enemy is playing.
• Melody of Bitterness: Until your next turn, play a melody that reduces the health of your enemies by 5%. This skill reduces their power and attack speed with a 50% chance.
• Blossom Song: Attacks the enemy and increases their chance to perform a glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.

Virtuoso on the zither (darkness) - "Mirinae

As for the light attribute, Mirinae is quite rare to have and has the following skills:

• Leader skill: The attack power of monsters is increased by 24% in all guild content.
• Cursed Music : Increases the attack speed of all allies for 2 turns and plays a musical tune to increase the damage of allies by 25%.
• Dissonance: Attacks all enemies three times to stun them for 1 turn with a 15% chance. If an enemy is already stunned or frozen, this attack reduces their attack gauge by 10%.
• Blossom Song: Attacks the enemy and increases their chance to perform a glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.

The different painters

Unlike the virtuoso, this one is a native 5 star and the first results are rather positive! It could even be useful in ToA.

Painter (fire) - "Joegun

Joegun is a medium with three competences and a leading ability:

• Leader Ability: Increases the attack power of all allied fire monsters by 50%.
• Blossoming Plums: Attacks all enemies to remove their beneficial effects. Also increases attack power for 2 turns.
• Scroll Coil: Seals the enemy target in a scroll, removing it from combat for a set amount of time proportional to your attack speed. If all enemies are sealed, the monster with the lowest duration is released.
• Paintbrush Tip : Attacks the enemy and reduces their attack gauge by 30% with a 50% chance.

Painter (water) - "Haegang

Haegang is a support with the following competencies:

• Leader Ability : Increase the attack power of the allied water monster by 50%.
• Beauty of the Void: If the enemy removes harmful effects, the attack gauge of all allies increases by 25%.
• Moon Drawing Clouds: Attacks all enemies to remove all their beneficial effects with a 50% chance and increases their chance to glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.
• Paintbrush Tip: Attacks the enemy and reduces their attack gauge by 30% with a 50% chance.

Painter (wind) - "Cheongpung

Cheongpung is also an attack monster with the following skills:

• Leader Ability: Increase the attack power of the allied wind monster by 50%.
• Growing problem: Attacks all enemies three times, reducing their attack gauge by 50% with each attack. Enemies whose attack gauge is at zero will have an increased pause time on one of their skills.
• Moon Drawing Clouds: Attacks all enemies to remove all their beneficial effects with a 50% chance and increases the chance for enemies to glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.
• Brush Point: Attacks the enemy and reduces their attack gauge by 30% with a 50% chance.

Painter (light) - "Hanwul

Hanwul is an attacking monster with the following skills:

• Leader Ability: Increase the attack power of the allied Light monster by 50%.
• Final Touch: Draws a giant dragon to attack allenemies. This attack prevents enemies from counterattacking and activating their passive skills during the time of the attack.
• Scroll Coil: Seals the enemy target in a scroll, removing it from combat for a set amount of time proportional to your attack speed. If all enemies are sealed, the monster with the lowest duration is released.
• Brush Point: Attacks the enemy and reduces their attack gauge by 30% with a 50% chance.

Painter (darkness) - "Mugwol

Mugwol is a medium with the following competencies:

• Leader Ability: Increase the attack power of the allied dark monster by 50%.
• Demon's Face: Removes the harmful effects of all allies. The target you have selected will go into a threatening state for 2 enemy attacks. Then it's your turn.
• Moon Drawing Clouds : Attacks all enemies to remove all their beneficial effects with a 50% chance and increases the chance for enemies to glancing blow for 2 turns with a 50% chance.
• Brush Point : Attacks the enemy and reduces their attack gaugeby 30% with a 50% chance.

These monsters being recently released do not allow yet to have an in-depth case study. However, some youtubers have studied these monsters such as "ManaProd" in his video available here but also "Sheisou" whose video is separated in two episodes.

Other additions/improvements to the 5.3.6 update

Other additions and improvements are also present in this new 5.3.6 update:

• Function for the most see the pop-up when making an additional wish via crystals.
• Additional sound when increasing the attack gauge of allies for Brownie the Magician's Harmless Ring (Water).
• Design of limited time products has been improved in the shop + direct access from the buff icons on the island screen.
• Minimum requirements for playing on iOS upgraded to 9.0 (from 8.0)
• The scrolls to obtain the new Zither Virtuoso monster can be obtained in the Obtain and Upgrade Skill Event (in progress).
