Top mobile games for August 2024

Don't know what to try out on your phone - on the move, at home or even in the toilet? Every second of gaming must be worthwhile, so the Mobi.gg editorial team has put together a selection of the best mobile games for August 2024. These free and premium quality titles were released in July, but are sure to complete your collection and are available now on Android or iOS.

Our favourite mobile games of the month

This month we've fallen for two great new releases. Make some room on your storage space, because these mobile games are going to be hard to resist.

Arranger

The excellent Arranger arrived in the Netflix subscription this month. This puzzle game will turn your brain upside down while taking you by the hand. It's everything we love.

Forget the classic games and imagine a world on treadmills that's both an RPG and a puzzle game. By moving the treadmills, you move all the elements in a straight line, but also Jemma, your character in search of meaning who explores the cute world of Arranger. With a single main mechanic and endearing characters, the title offers an 8-10 hour campaign that uses its concept intelligently and to the full to give you a unique adventure.

Arranger is now available as part of your Netflix subscription, so make the most of it if you've got an account to squat on for a few sessions!

Waven

We're crossing the French border with a made-in-baguette game from Ankama Games. The tactical RPG Waven is coming to our phones after a lengthy early access period on PC. The atmosphere of Dofus is very much present, as is the lore. But in-game, the emphasis is on strategic placement and size.

It's all based on the experience Ankama has gained from Dofus battles. The game already offers numerous quests with varying degrees of challenge for your strategist's skills in your quest for greatness. You play as an adventurer on the seas, where only a few islands have survived the great upheaval. From island to island, discover a tactical deckbuilding RPG with a colourful DA and cartoonish graphics.

Solo or with friends, in PvP or PvE, try out all the character types, items to equip, spells, companions and weapons, and combinations. Waven has already built up a strong community in free-to-play stores.

Before I tell you about the other games of the month, I wanted to remind you that we've got a page bringing together the very latest mobile games for those who like to be ahead of the trends.
