With its new mobile game Relic Hunters: Rebels, Netflix continues its pursuit of diversification in entertainment. Let's discover this Netflix game developed by the Brazilian studio Rogue Snail.
For some time now, the American company has decided to enter the video game market by offering exclusive games to Netflix subscribers on Android and iOS, such as Hextech Mayhem, the mobile game based on the League of Legends universe.
The latest one has just been released and it's called Relic Hunters: Rebels. It's the latest installment in the Relic Hunters license, whose remake Relic Hunters Zero: Remix was released on PC and Nintendo Switch.
In this RPG shooter, you'll explore a colourful retro sci-fi world where you must battle the forces of the evil Duncan Empire.
In order to defeat your enemies, you will have 44 types of weapons at your disposal, which you can upgrade individually via a crafting system. At the moment, we already know 5 different characters: Ace, Raff, Baru, Pinkyy and Jimmy.
I've already tested Relic Hunters: Rebels quickly. The gameplay is very fluid thanks to the automatic aiming and the simplicity of its controls makes it very accessible.
The studio said it chose to work with Netflix so that it would not have to worry about the business model and could focus on developing the game. The developers have also assured that their game will not be power hungry and will be playable even on older devices.
Relic Hunters: Rebels is available now on iOS and Android if you have a Netflix subscription. With Netflix's subscriber base in decline lately, the SVOD leader's salvation may come from mobile gaming.
