Pokémon GO: Season 3 of the Combat League

Pokemon GO Season 3 Battle League ends

Starting tonight at 10pm, players of Pokémon GO players will be able to battle it out in Season 3 of the Battle League. This third season will end on September 14 according to the official website and Niantic's statements.
Season 4 will therefore begin on September 14 and the rewards unlocked in the previous season will then be available. As a reminder, seasons were recently integrated into the game to punctuate the game experience and offer new features to players.
Players can indeed compete remotely in PvP by walking a bit... Even if Pokémon GO has adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic and to the various confinements around the world.

Quick review of season 2

Niantic gave a quick review of Season 2, which ends today. The company has a very positive assessment of the season, as players have launched overa billion Pokemon battles across the globe. It has to be said that with containment, the game has unleashed the limits of battle and the mobile gaming sector has seen strong growth in general.

As season 2 worked well in many respects, many elements will be retained for season 3. For example, there will still be no requirement to travel on foot to fight. In addition, the formats of the major cuts have worked well and will be repeated in the future.

The Pokémon GO programme for season 3 of the fighting league

The schedule for Season 3 of the Pokémon GO Battle League is already known. There are indeed different leagues in succession with constraints and limits in PC (Pokécoins).

  • 27 July - 10 August: Super League;
  • August 10 - August 24 : Hyper League and its Major Cup which has a limit of 2,500 Pokécoins;
  • 27 August - 7 September: Master League and its Majure Cup, which will be played without PC limit;
  • 14 September: end of season 3 and start of season 4.

The development team has not yet revealed everything, but there will be other new features. There should be new cups to enter (like the Flying Cup). The guaranteed rewards matches will change a bit and there will no longer be the "Fight to theFinish" feature. Finally, getting rank 7 will give access to another TC: Elite Charged Attack and not Elite Immediate Attack.
