Need For Speed Mobile is officially released today in China on Android and iOS. But rest assured: the Electronic Arts game developed by TiMi Studio, owned by Tencent, will be arriving on stores around the world very soon. Need For Speed Mobile has indeed been announced for autumn 2024, although no specific date has yet been revealed. In the meantime, we take a look at what the mobile version of the famous licence will have to offer.
NFS Mobile takes you into a 40-player open-world with immersive races
Announced at Apple's WWDC 2024, at the same time as the arrival of Assassin's Creed Shadow on iOS devices, we now know that NFS Mobile will be released worldwide next autumn on Android and iOS. And according to its creators, the game is set to revolutionise mobile car racing- no less!
The successor to Need for Speed: No Limits, released in 2015, will this time offer a truly open-world experience, with features similar to those of NFS on PC. The new title will also feature traditional NFS HD elements and a crossover with Need For Speed Unbound, to mark the 30th anniversary of the licence.
Need For Speed Mobile promises a PC-like experience
The game, available from today in China, has already been tested on Android in Australia, Canada, Indonesia and Mexico. As far as we can tell, the game will give players the chance to test drive 150 luxury cars from 30 different manufacturers in 40-player races - a fine promise from Tencent, but that's not all!
Other features have also been announced for Need For Speed Mobile, with the aim of offering an experience close to that on the PC. The most impressive of these is undoubtedly the customisation of spatial audio for iPhone 15, enabling a 3D sound environment to be created using technology capable of tracking the player's head movements. To take advantage of this, you'll need to wear headphones!
All players will also be able to experience the game's day/night cycle, as well as a seasonal cycle and an extended audio library. As well as immersive racing, NFS Mobile features an original story divided into chapters, which will be updated regularly.
Have we made your mouth water? You'll have to wait a little longer to enjoy the new NFS opus on mobile, and pre-registration is not yet available. We'll keep you posted on the official release date!
