With Monster Hunter Wilds due for release on PC and consoles in February 2025, TiMi Studio and Capcom have just announced the arrival of a new mobile version of the licence, with the promise of bringing the MH experience to Android and iOS players (unlike Monster Hunter Now!). Is this really good news for fans, or just another forgettable adaptation of a popular licence for smartphones? Let's find out... !
In a trailer that looks great but doesn't really show much of the game (let alone the gameplay), TiMi Studio and Capcom announce Monster Hunter Outlanders, described as an open-world survival game in the Monster Hunter universe, to be played solo or in co-op with up to 4 players.
“It’s time for mobile players to fully enjoy what makes Monster Hunter one of the most beloved franchises in gamin. Monster Hunter Outlanders not only offers players an authentic hunting experience, but it does it in a massive open world featuring the community and social systems players are looking for today.”
As well as exploring and hunting, you'll be able to craft your own tools and equipment. You'll also find the traditional Monster Hunter weapons: swords, double blades and bows will be on hand (although the hammer has not yet been shown).

What's more, even the iconic monsters could find their way into MH Outlanders. You can see on the game's X page that the Rathian will be part of the adventure !
And what would MH be without companions? For the mobile version, forget the Palicos and Palamutes, who have been replaced by some cute new little critters.

Monster Hunter Outlanders will be free-to-play on Android and iOS, so we can expect a gacha system as it has been announced that several playable characters will be unlockable in the game. It remains to be seen whether or not the economic system will be in favour of F2P players...!
For those who haven't been keeping up, TiMi Studio is far from a newcomer when it comes to producing mobile games. They are responsible for Call of Duty Mobile (which in 2022 generated as much money as all CoD and Warzone combined), Honor of Kings, Pokémon Unite and, more recently, Age of Empires Mobile.

For Monster Hunter Outlanders, then, we can expect a quality title that meets the expectations of gamers on Android and iOS. That's all we're hoping for, anyway! No release date has yet been announced, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
