The world of mobile gaming is constantly developing and becoming richer and richer. However, it is also a cruel world where competition between the different games on offer remains fierce. With the release of LoL: Wild Rift, the mobile version of the popular MOBA League of Legends, other MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) on the small screen can worry. In order to attract players, it is necessary to be imaginative and find the right methods. This is not only a question of the quality of the game, but also of well thought-out communication campaigns. In this context, Moonton has decided to bring out the heavy artillery with an audiovisual production. The film Mobile Legends, Winter Clash highlights the MOBA through an emotional action scene.
Winter Clash is available for free on YouTube and lasts just over 5 minutes. We let you judge the scenario and the production. Only available in VO, this "short film" has nevertheless English subtitles.
A Mobile Legends film for the Winter Gala 2020 event
Moonton has gone all out for this audiovisual production with professional actors. The two protagonists (Chou and Guson) are played by Iko Uwais (Razoo Qin-Fee in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Al Ghazali. In all honesty, they are not particularly well known in Europe but are well recognisable to audiences in South East Asia, the main target of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Also producing is a classic film director, Timo Tjahjanto. A veteran of horror films, he had the opportunity to indulge in a new genre.
In any case, Winter Clash helps feed the hype of the moment. It highlights the current in-game event of Winter Gala 2020. As there is never enough, this one will also benefit from the Winter Clash Fun Match. An exhibition tournament with professional Mobile Legends players like RRQ Lemon, AURA Queira and Geek Schwan.
A blocked future in Europe?
The Mobile Legends MOBA has been available since 2016 on iOS and Android. Despite all its years of existence and regular promotional operations, it has never managed to make its mark in Europe. It has to be said that it is often mocked for being a sort of inferior copy of League of Legends. And the future doesn't look any better. Indeed, the sky should now be even more cloudy with the release of LoL: Wild Rift.
If Europe is a lost market, the game should focus on defending its South East Asian stronghold, which will not be spared by the new title from Riot Games. It is therefore in the game's interest to multiply initiatives like this Mobile Legends film.
