You're not ready for what you're about to read! MiHoYo seems to be in the middle of a major recruitment drive, and according to the information we've been able to gather, this could involve the development of a game that all fans have been waiting for: Genshin Impact 2! We reveal everything we know about this crazy announcement.
MiHoYo is currently in the middle of a major recruitment drive. As proof of this, over the last few days job offers have been posted on its official website. Reddit users have translated one of these adverts, and when we take a closer look at the skills sought in new employees, several elements suggest that the development of Genshin Impact 2 could well be in the pipeline...
MiHoYo appears to be on the lookout for staff with a command of the Unreal Engine and development skills for PC, iOS, Android and Playstation . To apply, you'll need to have already worked on triple-A projects in a fantasy universe , and have a good knowledge of various fields: geography, ecology, architecture and religious beliefs. Skills in chara-design, asset creation and level design are also required by the development studio.

And last but not least, miHoYo's job advert explicitly requires applicants to have a genuine interest in... Genshin Impact!
Is this the ultimate proof that a sequel to miHoYo's flagship game is well and truly in the pipeline? Obviously, it could be another open-world RPG, or even chapter 2 of Genshin! However, there's nothing yet to contradict the possibility that Genshin Impact 2 could be in the pipeline from the Chinese developer and publisher.
For the time being, miHoYo has not reacted to this information, nor has it ever mentioned the possibility of a second chapter for Genshin Impact. In addition, job announcements for a future game in the Honkai licence were also published last month.

These speculations come on top of other rumours about a future HoYoverse game...!
We told you about it as soon as the leak was released: HoYoverse is said to be developing an Animal Crossing-style life simulator. Very recently, this rumour took a new twist, as we learned that HoYoverse had registered a new trademark on 1 July 2024 through its subsidiary Cognosphere. The name is Astaweave Haven, which could in fact be the exact translation of another Chinese trademark registered at the beginning of 2024.

So the rumours about this life simulator are becoming more and more concrete, even if, here again, nothing has been confirmed by HoYoverse. Whether it's Genshin Impact 2 or Astaweave Haven, we'll have to be patient before we get any concrete information from miHoYo.
You can still try out the Chinese publisher's latest game, Zenless Zone Zero, released on 4 July, and in the meantime, don't forget that version 4.8 of Genshin comes out on 17 July !
