Battlefield mobile - release date and info

Announced back in April by Electronic Arts, the subject of Battlefield mobile's release in the near future has been rather quiet. Since the announcements about the PC future of the license, the upcoming Android and iOS title has remained in the shadows, until this week. Now we know more about the Battlefield mobile game thanks to an official announcement from EA.

Towards a release date for Battlefield mobile

When it is released, Battlefield mobile will indeed be true to its predecessors on other platforms. The game will continue the team-based FPS gameplay formula with its large arsenal of weapons. Competitive gameplay and large-scale destruction will take centre stage on the same large maps.

Unfortunately, don't expect crossplay, PC and console players. The game is developed independently from its big brothers. Although it takes up the fundamentals of the licence in terms of gameplay and content (such as the maps, as you can see one of the maps from BF III), EA's title is entirely made in accordance with the mobile medium. In fact, crossplay compatibility would be too much to develop for the release of Battlefield mobile. EA preferred to specify that it was not on the agenda.

You'll have to make do with the classic Conquest mode and the Grand Bazaar map at launch.

Some countries will soon have access to playtesting

The release date for Battlefield mobile is not yet known. But its publisher has shed light on other aspects of the game. The title will be free-to-play with in-app purchases. Also, in the test phase, you will need a minimum Android 7. 0 or higher. This is not the final minimum configuration, just the version on which playtests will work best for this mobile FPS.

Pre-registration for Battlefield mobile is not yet open worldwide. However, EA has announced the start of a test phase in two countries: Indonesia and the Philippines. We don't yet know which regions will be next. In fact, these two countries will not have access to the game until the autumn of 2021, at an undetermined date. As with most mobile games, Europe will probably have to wait until pre-registration opens and Battlefield mobile is fully released before it can be tested.

Note that Electronic Arts has confirmed that other countries will gradually have access to the game via the Playstore pre-registration page.
