Whiteout Survival Frostfire Mine Guide: Schedule, Orichalcum & Strategy

The Frostfire Mine in Whiteout Survival is a massive bi-weekly cross-server PvPvE event. It drops you into a dedicated combat zone to gather Orichalcum, a vital resource needed to craft Mythic and Elite gear. How do you enter? How to participate in the Frostfire Mine Event?

The Frostfire Mine event takes place every two weeks. Participating is the single best way to obtain Orichalcum to upgrade your hero gear, without any risk of permanently losing your troops. Here is the essential data sheet for the event:

Warning: You must register at least 15 minutes before combat starts. Once the matchmaking phase concludes, you will be teleported to the dedicated mine map.

Mechanics: Veins, Troops, and The Smelter

To dominate this event, you must master three gameplay pillars: Vein mining, smart troop management, and Smelter timing.

1. Mining Orichalcum Veins

In this PvPvE mode, the goal is to farm as much Orichalcum as possible. This resource is found in veins of varying richness:

• Level 1 Veins: Yield 8/sec (Total: 6,840 Orichalcum).
• Level 2 Veins: Yield 16/sec (Total: 17,280 Orichalcum).
• Level 3 Veins: Yield 32/sec (Total: 34,560 Orichalcum).

Initially, you must defeat the Guards protecting the veins (PvE). Once cleared, Orichalcum piles will appear: send a squad immediately to gather them. You can also—and often should—attack veins occupied by other players (PvP) to steal the spot.

2. Troop Management and Healing

It takes roughly 18 minutes to fully deplete a vein. In Frostfire Mine, you fight with your own stats, but losses are temporary. The strategy involves stationing troops on key mines to defend them from enemy scouts.

Good to know: If you lose a vein battle, you keep the resources you already gathered. However, your defeated Heroes will suffer a 5-minute cooldown before they can be redeployed. Manage your squads wisely!

3. Controlling the Central Smelter

This is the heart of the PvP action. The Smelter, located in the middle of the map, opens 23 minutes after the event starts. Occupying it grants massive lump sums of Orichalcum based on your occupancy duration rank:

• Rank 1: 100,000 Orichalcum
• Rank 2: 80,000 Orichalcum
• Rank 3: 60,000 Orichalcum
• Ranks 4-10: 55,000 down to 20,000 Orichalcum

Best Strategies to Maximize Your Score

How do you get the most Orichalcum? Here are tips validated by the Mobi.gg experts:

• Skill Optimization: Switch your Chief Gear or talents to focus on March Speed (to reach mines first) and Troop Load.
• Master Teleportation: Teleporting is free but has a 6-minute cooldown. Use it strategically to jump from a depleted zone to a rich area, not just to flee battles.
  
  
• Smelter Combat: Be ready to switch presets. Activate skills that boost Troop Damage and Rally Capacity if you aim for the center.
• Prioritize Gathering: When a vein explodes (finishes), ignore remaining guards or players. Focus all squads on picking up the dropped loot piles.

Editor's Tip: Avoid Level 3 mines in the center if you are facing "Whales" (P2W players with maxed stats). It is far better to secure 100% of a Level 1 or 2 mine on the outskirts than to get wiped out every 2 minutes in the center!
