Are you new to DC: Dark Legion? I'd like to help you get off to a good start with some advice and tips on how to optimise the use of resources and manage your champions and Batcave. Here's a DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide to help you understand the mechanics of the game.
DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide: resources management
To get off to a good start in DC: Dark Legion, you need to understand how the main resources work together:
Divine Energy Keys: these are essential for opening mother-boxes.
Source Energy Gems: These are the currency you use to buy items in the shop, as well as buying immediate upgrades to rooms in the Batcave.
Mother-boxes: Use these to draw champions, whose rarity depends on their colour. In order, green means a box of little interest, blue, purple, yellow and red, which will give you rare champions.
Good management of your resources is essential, and in this beginner's guide to DC: Dark Legion, I suggest that you spend them strategically. If you wish, you can also invest in packs. This will make your experience easier, although it's not necessary.
If you'd like to get more essential resources, I suggest you check out our list of DC: Dark Legion codes!
Getting champions in DC: Dark Legion
Just like in any other gacha, DC: Dark Legion champions can be obtained via draws on the various banners, but also via shards, which can be obtained in mother boxes or bought with in-game currency or real money.
To undertake draws in DC: Dark Legion, you'll need the World Anvil Fragment to use in 'The Bleed'.
In this DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide, I'd like to show you how to get free heroes, which will be very useful in the early game. For starters, you'll be able to get Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy (provided you complete the Path of Justice for Poison Ivy) with the first 7 days' login bonuses. By the way, I suggest you take a look at our DC: Dark Legion tier list, to target the best superheroes and super-villains.
Don't forget to take advantage of the pre-registration rewards too!
Upgrading your champions in DC: Dark Legion
In this DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide, we'll look at how you can improve your superheroes and super-villains, which is essential if you want to progress. First of all, you'll need to upgrade the War Room, which is located in the Batcave. This is where you'll be able to upgrade your champions, and to do that you'll need lots of XP and stimulators.
Another way of upgrading your champions is to give them stars, obtained by spending shards in the 'Champions' tab. To raise a character by one level, you'll need 5 stars. Aim for 5 white stars for a hero to unlock all his abilities. But be careful! You cannot be reimbursed for the shards used to upgrade a champion. So make sure you choose the right character to upgrade.
Finally, gears and legacy pieces are other resources that will help you increase the level of your champions. You can obtain them by completing campaign missions, or by collecting Magic Eyes, in-game currency.
Play DC: Dark Legion on PC!
I'm taking advantage of this DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide to inform you that you can play DC: Dark Legion on PC. This way, you can enjoy better performance and even play multi-instance. Not to mention the comfort of playing on a computer screen!
There are several game modes in DC: Dark Legion, which I'd like you to discover:
Metal Brawl: this is the game's PvP mode, which lets you collect gems. 5 attempts per day are allowed.
Anti Crime Network: this mode is essential for obtaining tokens and energy.
Combat Cycle: this is the boss rush mode.
Training Simulator: don't miss out on this game mode, as it allows you to obtain stimulators and improve the production of your resources.
Neutralise the Darkest Timeline: this is the roguelite mode, which is great fun but only unlocks at level 15.
Improve your Batcave
In this DC: Dark Legion beginner's guide, you'll have realised that the game isn't just about putting together a team to fight the Dark Multiverse. DC: Dark Legion is also about basic management, which is your Batcave. Here are the rooms I recommend you upgrade first:
The War Room: you'll need to upgrade this room as quickly as possible. Complete the main campaign missions to do this. I'd also suggest assigning your most effective champions to this room.
The Armoury: This is where you can craft better gears for your champions.
The laboratory : Don't neglect research in DC: Dark Legion!
