AFK Journey Tier List: the rankings

The game's most powerful heroes need to combine significant buffs or debuffs, sustain, utility and good synergy with other effective characters on the field. Take a look at our AFK Journey tier list of the best heroes for each game mode. What's more, the ranking of the best AFK Journey heroes is organised by rank:

Tier S+: the OP heroes of the current meta, absolutely essential if you want to stay competitive in story mode, in the Dream Realm or in PvP.
Tier S: These heroes are also essential if you want a powerful composition in the early game, like Odie and his poison damage,
Tier A: the heroes that make up the core of the AFK Journey tier list, which you can switch between as you progress through the mid-game and end-game,
Tier B : the situational abilities of these heroes make them useful for getting through certain AFK Stages, tactical challenges or solo challenges,
Tier C: AFK Journey heroes in Tier C are inferior options to the rest of the character roster and should be used mainly in faction-based Legendary Trials and will not form part of your main composition,
Tier D: heroes to avoid who are below the level imposed by the meta, either too squishy or with negligible effects on the battlefield,

AFK Journey tier list of the best heroes for each game mode

Each hero on this AFK Journey tier list will be best in one or other of the game modes on offer:

Story mode's AFK Stages, the single-player campaign during which you'll discover the plot behind AFK Journey.
The Dream Realm, a daily boss rush where you'll need to bring together your best characters to triumph and reach the top of the leaderboard.
PvP: AFK Journey offers several options for taking on other players, including arena battles.

Smokey & Meerky, for example, are excellent in story mode and the Dream Realm, but not necessarily recommended for PvP. Conversely, Hewynn is a fairly average character, but will work wonders in PvP.

Reinier, the best debuffer on the AFK Journey tier list

Tier list AFK Journey : Reinier

Reinier is a highly versatile support debuffer character, capable of applying both defensive and offensive debuffs. He's particularly effective in the Dream Realm, thanks to his unique targeting which allows him to inflict heavy damage on bosses. We also recommend it for story mode and PvP, thanks to its excellent crowd control capabilities. He'll be more and more effective the more he's improved. Clearly the best character on our AFK Journey tier list.

Thoran, the best tank in the game

Tier list AFK Journey : Thoran

Thoran is quite simply the tank with the greatest damage potential. That's why he's one of the S+ characters in our AFK Journey tier list. He has the advantage of being a self-sufficient hero, who can survive even if your squad doesn't include a healer, thanks to his resurrection ability. On the downside, this ability prevents him from being targeted again by enemies, which could jeopardise the rest of your team.

Odie, the excellent DPS from the AFK Journey tier list

Odie is without doubt the best DPS in our tier list, simply because he inflicts the most damage on a single target. What's more, he's pretty versatile and is super effective against enemies with low HP. The only downside is that to boost your Odie even more, you'll need his exclusive weapon, which is hard to come by in F2P. But even without it, Odie will be the character who inflicts the most damage in your compo.

Smokey & Meerky, the best supports

Tier list AFK Journey: Smokey and Meerky

The real strength of Smokey & Meerky lies in the constant care they bring to your team. They're an excellent long-term heal option, and we particularly recommend them in the Dream Realm, where battles can be long. Their offensive buffs are also very effective, asthey boost the attack of your other heroes. From a distance, S&M will work wonders. However, they are less effective in PvP.

In tiers A and B, you can use these characters by mastering their abilities to the full, which you can discover in Duel de Noblesse mode. And avoid Tier C heroes if you want to win your battles easily!
